Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Let them pass! Let them pass!
(Note to dwarves, this is only meant figuratively)
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Hehehe... nothing says "go away" quite like blowing some double-ought buckshot through the front door, from the inside, and *leaving* the holes. :-)
Except maybe the tracks of tennis shoes in some dark red paint limping and stumbling down the front steps...

I love the writing on the door to my barn... wonder if anyone noticed it when they were here...
"Trespasers will be seriously injurd"
It was precious, I had to leave it.
Like the "God's house" on the doorbell nameplate. How could I take that down?

So whattya think? Should I go for one of those 8x12 Bush/Cheney signs on the boathouse door?
I just occurred to me... I'll bet the T's are democrats. Might be worth the risk.

I don't think they are Democrats.... when Dad was over there talking about septic permits or something, T went on and on and on about the gubmint trampling on our property rights.
But I want one of those signs too! For the pasture!

I saw the "God's House" by the doorbell, but I completely missed the barn door inscription!
That's part of the character of your place. It'd be a crime to change or remove it!

I haven't had any JWs since I answered the door au natural once about 10 years ago.
You should have seen the looks on their faces when I invited them in.
