Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Let them pass! Let them pass!
(Note to dwarves, this is only meant figuratively)
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I'll get Harvey's address and send it along with the others. How much did each of the engraved knives that we're sending cost?

nice job on Jr's room bro... no disco globe?... Actually he does have one...and a lava lamp. But I don't think they'll be goin' back up...
To: Fedora
Some...I sat down to write out the beginning the other night. I am afraid I may have to invest in those books you suggested. I am finding that even shortening the stuff I want to write is hard. Can I send you what I have written so far to see if its the proper start?

I'm in trouble. My two minute monologue for Acting class tonite is timing out at 3 1/2 minutes. Cut out every other word. They aren't gonna pay attention to what you are saying anyhow, they are gonna be distracted wondering why you aren't wearing any pants ;~D

Sure, send it on! It can be a bit challenging to get used to the medium if you're used to writing the "regular" way because you have to deal with the panel format. There are some tricks for depicting non-visual things and condensing time lapse and stuff like that. Another book you will find useful on this is:
Scott McCloud, Understanding Comics

It's pre-written? Or can you redo it and make it shorter?

Hmmm--are you allowed to reword it at all?
