The Hobbit Hole XIII - Let them pass! Let them pass!
See our freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net home page! ^

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Let them pass! Let them pass!
(Note to dwarves, this is only meant figuratively)

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Roger that... tomorrow is the dreaded "all employee meeting" where we (the IT dept) dread this thing like a disease...

It's done as an online meeting over the network... and they call me when the real-time video part of the presentation doesn't work perfectly... I hate video.

Goody, goody. An all employee meeting. And they ~have~ to have video, doncha know. Must show the underlings what their could-have-been pay raises actually went for. *laughing*

I hope it goes smoothly for your (and the IT Dept's) peace of mind.

I'll be thinkin' of you as I run the first payroll for this 300+ employee company that does a ridiculous amount of allocations for less than a dozen of them.

I'm talking one employee with 0.5% in one department, 1.2% in another, and so on and so forth until 100% is finally and blessedly reached!

My poor sister had to actually fly there today to walk them through it on their side tomorrow.

Bay is still acting a little off...

I just went out to fill the hay racks, and while I was standing there in the lean-to with hay in my hand, he walked in and layed down. He seems quiet, but that is really unusual behavior. Even the pony is bewildered. I hollered at ecurbh to come out with the camera. Still he lay there.

What do you make of horse that lays down when I walk out with dinner? He seems quiet. Still laying there as I post.

I harvested a tomato from my patio garden..

I noticed earlier, that the tomatos growing in the compost pile are starting to get ripe. Ought to be interesting eatin'.

Hi Rose! Actually... the Exchange 2003 tests we've done so far have been pretty seamless. We're still just moving test mailboxes to the new environment, but so far there are no hitches in the git-a-long.

Another week or two and we're gonna move the whole Bellevue office to the new 'way'. Then things will get interesting...

Pardon my ignorance, Hair, cuz you know I don't know anything about horses but....

Do you think he needs an enema? Or will he let you massage his tummy area to help him pass wind? How about a heating pad? Do any of those things work on horses like they do on dogs?

His eyes reflect genuine discomfort and I'm really concerned now too.

I honestly don't know what he needs, or if another call to the vet is in order. The vet said he may lay down, and if he isn't rolling, to let him rest there. Yes, he's uncomfortable. I don't know where I would ~put~ a heating pad. I am going to ping the horse list in a minute for advice.

I wish they invented some kind of Pepto Bismol for horses, sis. A quick little cure-all for tummy issues.

I'd put the heating pad on whatever patch of tummy I could get to! Or in his case, just throw a heavy blanket in the dryer til it's nice and toasty and toss it over him. LOL!!

Well, you can give a lot of those drugs to horses.... just give them a higher dose, like whole a bottle or two. I don't know if it would help. Going to watch him a little longer, get some advice from some of the horse folks I hope, and call the vet if I think I am not just being overly worried again. What if he is just really tired from not feeling good and he just wants to lay down?
