Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Let them pass! Let them pass!
(Note to dwarves, this is only meant figuratively)
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Tagline update. Gotta get to work...
To: RosieCotton
Good luck today, Rosie, even though you won't see this until you get back!
I went to see I Robot last night, and now I'm going out with my friend. I'll be back this evening.

'Morning everyone.
Got the shopping done and am ready for some "series" unpacking.
Sorry I didn't answer anybody yesterday. Some nimrod changed the filters on the firewall and I was blocked from posting although I could read as much as I want. Hope that's just a temporary thing. :)

"If I was to find myself possessed* of a surplus of scrub brushes (and, per my screen name, I kinda know what would be suitable), where should I send them?
"*On review:
somebody is going to suggest an exorcism. I know it, I just know it..."
Out, scrub brushes, out! :)
Wow, I log on and y'all are only a few dozen posts ahead of when I checked out last night whereas I usually have 100-300 to catch up on--must be a slow morning!

What's the verdict? How bad was it? I'm guessing based on the previews that "Starship Troopers" has a new rival for worst SF adaptation ever. . .

Oh, and I've actually used these when I've gotten my nails done...they are not horribly stiff, but not baby-brush soft either. They are I think maybe 5" long.

Well, I have a box-o-brushes ready to go. Just need an addy.
2J- I'm gonna make pickles! Got my Mason jars just this morning and the cukes from the garden last nite. I'm going to go the brine/ferment route instead of vinegar.

Are you having problems with post #1852? If so, go ahead and have the moderator remove it...
If it's just me, that's ok. I keep getting a pop-up window about the security certificate.

Woohooo! I've never had the courage. I canned up some maters a few years back and was too anxious about botulism to eat them! I keep them as decoration on my kitchen windowsill.
I really do good canning fruit though...I've made some really great jams in the past.

One of my local multicinemegaplexes is no longer under the scourge of my wrath (apparently
UnfairHate 7-11 has run its course there), so I'm headed out to see an impossible past and an improbable future (
King Arthur and
I, Robot).
I just hope King Arthur comes up to the high standard of historical accuracy and production value benchmarked by Monty Python's Holy Grail.

Rose and I will be interested to hear what you think of I, Robot... I've heard some good reviews that lead me to hope it won't be as bad as the trailers are making it look. Unfortunately we won't be able to see it until next week, probably.
To: 2Jedismom
I am not getting the popup, but your image is a dead red x.
No need to remove it, don't think.
