Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Let them pass! Let them pass!
(Note to dwarves, this is only meant figuratively)
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

She's gonna send me more info on the Young Republicans group that's just forming. Sigh...I'm too old to be a Young Republican...
To: Corin Stormhands
Officially it's for 18-48, I think I read.
I thought I would be out of the age range, too...it sounds like a group that would really be aimed at the 18-25 age range. But I guess not.

I just remember being distressed when I thought about joining the Richmond Jaycees. I was already too old (40).
To: Corin Stormhands
What are the Jaycees?
I guess the local group IS 18-40. Checked the voice message she left with info on the group.

I'm definitely planning to go to the next meeting if I can. I imagine they probably only meet once a month, though...and the party may have been that meeting. But I'm gonna go to the next one unless I absolutely can't!

Getting involved with groups is not something I've ever done or ever been good at...so this is going to be interesting.
Probably good for me, though.

You got involved with us, though!
And you've kilt the thread. Will this revive it? If a thread's really dead, isn't reviving it wrong? Perhaps it's just sleeping.

If a thread's really dead, isn't reviving it wrong? I don't recall signing a DNR release...

You got involved with us, though! Yeah...but internet groups are different. Walking into a crowd of people I don't know at ALL is something that's just unimaginably hard for me. And I'm horrible at "mingling".
I did hang out with a Christian group in Germany, but that's about the last time I did that.

I suppose there's a difference between mostly dead and all dead...
