Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
Thanks Scott. Yep I have 7 brothers and sisters and there are numerous aunts, uncles and cousins still living in my hometown. For the last two years, Mama was in a nursing home just outside my hometown and a lot of her siblings and nieces and nephews came by to visit several times a week. My sisters and brothers were able to get there on a regular basis, too. It was great that she was so close to them, and that's the main reason we chose to put her there, so she'd have the chance to see them from time to time.
Suzi... just saw your news too... yikes. I hope it was a timely release from what sounds like a terrible slow bondage. Prayers for you and yours as well.
Evening Ramius.... Are you north or south tonight? Any word from TheDad?
I'm south. Went out for supplies and ended up at da sunset for a bit. [sigh].
Dad and D are in Roseburg, OR. Heard from them this afternoon. They're planning on hitting the road early (of course) and will be back tomorrow afternoon.
As of yesterday, Dad said he had won enough to pay for the trip. Apparently... fun was being had. :-)
Yet, the part of her that I loved and missed the most as time went on, was her ability to chatter continually (see, I get it honest!!). In her desire to try to fool herself and others that she didn't have this disease, she just stopped talking for the most part, so that she wouldn't say something that wasn't right for the situation. I never thought I'd miss her yakking, but I did.
Thanks, Ramius. Yeah it's a case of we're sad to lose her, but happy she's been released of this heavy chain. I know she's celebrating tonight, so that makes it not as sad as it might be! She would have been 85 this August, so she lived a good long life, and was well loved by her family and friends. What more could anyone ask for?
~smiles~
That never happens to me!
Thank you. I know he needs 'em tonight!
Heh.... Did I mention that I won $$$ when Nancy and Gordon took me to the casino somewhere over near Yakima? :-)
Never mind. I just remembered I told you when I got back to your house. oops.
Heh.... Rub it in!
Hey..... any idea yet how serious the stroke is in your friend? Do you have a source for news?
Carol said he is not able to speak and that he doesn't have movement in his arms or legs. They say that if he recovers some of this should return.
I think during this initial time they typically don't know which way things may go. He is in ICU though.
I hope I get there in time tomorrow to be able to see him. They only let family into ICU but I don't have any qualms or guilt about telling them I am his daughter. If Carol (his ex-wife) is there at the time, she will back me up.
I think by tomorrow if I can get there they will know more about which way this is going.
OK - Have a good and safe trip.... When will you be back?
August 23. :-)
I don't have to return to work till then. I am gonna have time to enjoy some stuff.
You really are a night owl.... it's late where I am!
I should sleep... Just feel too awake.
I sleep split shift.
Afternoon nap/night.
I developed this from those crazy work schedule days when I go in before 8AM and have to teach till 9:30 or 10. On those days I can have longer lunches. I *have* to come home and nap or I'd never make 'em.
Somehow that habit just happens now whenever I'm in this stupid house!
Well, good night....
See you when you get back, if'n you leave without saying goodbye in the morning!
SuziQ, my heart is breaking for you. I'm offering prayers for comfort and peace for you and your family.
SuziQ; LSA & I are very sorry for your loss. It is hard to lose one's parents. Letting them depart this vale for the light that is there is difficult even when we know we must accept it. Prayers for comfort during this time.
