If I have to buy my own drinks, I'm in the wrong place and I leave.

You may have missed my point. If I am on a date, of course I would allow the gentleman to buy my drinks. If I'm out with the girls, as a rule, I buy my own. Some exceptions to this rule, such a male friends who are buying for the whole table, etc.

I guess I'm just old fashioned (or crazy), but I don't expect a man to buy my drinks just for the sake of using him.
