Trying to help make a difference in my little corner of the country (vanity)

I move into a new county from the bustling city life of Charlotte to the smaller quiet life of Monroe. Left to wonder what I could do to keep busy and get to know and meet new people, I decided to start a Young Republicans club, since there was not one already in existence. I took it upon myself to make sure that the proper procedures were taken to start it up the right way. I make the announcement at the May Executive Committee meeting. This happened on May 6th. Since then we have had one planning meeting and have included 21 committed members to helping the new fledgling club grow and help to bring in new members and GOPers. I felt that I needed to help make a difference in my community and help young people like myself know that a vote makes all the difference in the world. I want to see the GOP succeed at all levels. I feel, deep down, that I am doing something good for the people.

There have been several young cons on the forum lately and I have urged each of them to PLEASE start a once-a-week thread, just for the young cons. I think it would be a great way for you, our future leaders, to get together and share your ideas, discuss topics of interest related to your age group, etc. We have a Fridays-only thread just for moms, the Freeper Family Table, which is coming along nicely. I could even find out from the moms if they have any young-adult kids who would want to participate in such a thread.
