Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Tree and flower and leaf and grass
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

[sigh] I had a feeling that opening the gun cabinet was a questionable idea... :-)
"Say... whattya'll think about drinking heavily and then messing around with guns???" :-)
Tho... on the whole I think we were safe enough about it.

I got to hold a gun (actually several different kinds) for the first time in my life at WeddingMoot! They're a lot heavier than I imagined, but way cooler than I thought they'd be! why yes they are... I could go so many places with that...

Sure...now we don't have it planned out or anything...we're gonna go when the muse hits us (being as how it's 10 minutes away depending on bridge), but that should allow for some reasonable notice.

I felt perfectly safe since I noticed you'd test-fire them before heading them over.
My only worry was that you'd blow a hole through the floor and thedad would be ~royally~ ticked!

I can make 'em a great deal on a sailboat... :-) I just told them that. :-)
They were trying and trying to get me to stay with them over the weekend last weekend to go out on the boat with them. He promised me the best fishing I'd ever had if only I would go out on the boat with them for the weekend. They've been promising to take me fishing somewhere on the Snake River for years and years but I've never been there long enough.
I think I forgot to tell ya that they provided me a huge fish feast of all kinds fish they catch around there. I can't remember all but it was 4 kinds of fish I think... very yummy!!!
This boat that they are buying is an old boat that they are going to restore. I heard a lot of stuff about it while I was there... you would have probably gotten a lot more out of the discussion than I did but it is not the kind of boat you like... it is a FAST boat. Used to be a race boat I think. But, it's wood. I like wood. It sounded awesome. They aren't restoring it to race but just to enjoy as an old classic.

Sounds like an old ChrisCraft. All mahogany and teak. It's a huge amount of work to restore one of those, but they're gorgeous when done right.

Ruthie, you have to imagine yourself in 20 degrees below, and then imagine the coat ...!
