Word For The Day, Friday, June 18, 2004
6/18/04 | Slip 18

Posted on 06/18/2004 5:22:50 AM PDT by Slip18

In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....

Subbie Slip has her whip, handcuffs and legcuffs today. Haven’t checked my mood ring yet. Y’all behave yourselves, ya hear? Principal JimRob is still out of town. I expect the utmost respect on this thread today. The Mods have been overworked lately.

The rest of the stuff is locked up in my drawer.

Toroid noun:
Pronunciation: Tor-roid (how easy is that?)

1) A surface generated by the rotation of a plane closed curve about an axis lying in the plane and not intersecting it
2) A body whose surface has the form of a toroid.

3) Not in the dictionary, but in other words a DONUT would be toroidal (adverb). This is for xs and her Dunkin’ Donut friends. “I’d like a chocolate toroidal, please.

Oh good, now the baby girl will have her mom to herself in the Fall. She'll probably miss the brothers. When she got bigger, mine would stand and wave at the school bus and couldn't wait for him to come back home.

well to be honest, she irked me when i heard she made a BIG to-do that they were NOT a Christian band. It was ambiguous enough that they were being used on christian websites etc. But if she felt strongly enough that she wanted to disassociate herself with that, then that irked me. she is sleeping with the seether guy now, apparently and dumped the one that is in evanescence with her. bad form to sleep with bandmates, IMO.

She cried this morning I am told when Jude went off into the classroom. Those two are very close.

I see.

We most likely won't know until august who her 1st grade teacher will be......but September is going to be interesting. She has already completed the 1st grade reading curriculum and is halfway through the 2nd.

Have almost the entire scope of the band's work.
There's a few songs that are nice, but Goth Rock is the main bulk of her work.
Stinks that Ben Moody left the band, he can sing when he has a mind to do so and he plays guitar and piano/keyboards rather well.

"Anything for You", "Before the Dawn", "Field of Innocence", and certain versions of "Taking Over Me" are worth a listen to.
Of course "Even in Death" is kinda creepy, or so says my sis.

If it were not for will power, I'd weigh 350 and owe it all to those. 190 is fine for 6'2"

This Sunday evening, CBS will air a 60-minute disinfomercial for the Klintoon book, "My Lies".

I propose that we start a little friendly wager/pool here at WFTD. Here is the question:

Will Dan Rather perform a Lewinsky on Bubba,
1. During the 1st 15 minutes
2. During the 2nd 15 minutes
3. During the 3rd 15 minutes
4. During the last 15 minutes
5. During a commercial
6. Off-camera before/after the disinfomercial

Place your bets.......

6'2" 140, 27 inch waist, 38 inch chest, when I entered basic training in the USAF in 1972. Gained 20 pounds in basic and 2 inches in my chest. I weighed under 180 till I was 40. I can get to 180 in a week if I want. Did you see my Basic Training Graduation Photo. LE scanned it in and sent it to Amy who added the frame and soft background. I think 2 things when I look at it. 1. I'm all ears! 2. Go Greyhound and leave the driving to us.
