Sheesh! This cookie bake-off thing is so old it has hair on it.

Te-re-zas cookie recipe:

1 cup (2 sticks) butter, at room temperature
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 cup canned pumpkin puree (from 15-ounce can; do not use pumpkin pie filling)
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon allspice
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup raisins

They left a few things off the recipe:

1 butler to go buy the ingredients
3 hired cooks to make the cookies
A dab of botox
A cup of left wingnuts

So when Hillary runs in '08, will Bill's recipe be in here? (Not sure I want to eat any food that's been near his sink!)

I read somewhere that for as long as the magazine has been doing this bake-off, the woman with the winning cookie has always become First Lady. Last time I think Tipper Gore submitted a ginger snap recipe, while Laura submitted a yummy-looking chocolate chip recipe! You'd think Teresa would have learned from that. I think Laura will win again. Most people like chocolate better than pumpkin!

Well, seeing how they don't announce the results until after the election - there may be a reason why this is true.

When did they announce that Laura's cookie had won over Tipper's? If they waited until all those weeks of pregnant chads, recounts, etc. were over before they announced it, then that proves it's fixed.

I'm not sure... but just thinking about Teresa Heinz becoming First Lady makes me want to toss my cookies

What BS. Ta-RAY-ZAAAAA has never baked a cookie in her life, let alone come up with a family "favorite" over time. I'd wager Hitlery didn't either. Feminazis and the ultra-spoiled don't know their way around a kitchen.

I couldn't have said it any better!

Garrison Keiller did a humorous monologue on pumpkin pie being invented as something to put nutmeg on, otherwise why would someone eat pumpkins?

I used to listen to Garrison Keiller until I discovered the excitement of watching grass grow.

BTW, pumpkins taste great. Just bake them, and eat them with butter. They're squashes, for goodness sake! Keiller must be stoned or something.
