Well, yes and no. He squeaked by on the standardized test. But the frustrating thing is, if he actually hears the lesson and (sometimes even) reads it, he will retain that information.
The failing grades are because he neither does nor turns in homework.
If he did, he'd likely make the honor roll.
There are students here that do that, too. My boss was complaining because he has students that show up for EVERY class and are attentive, ace the tests...but still fail because they don't do any of the homework assignments. That's just sad.
So what are you grounded from for not making sure the homework was at least done?
