So what's a Bahama Mama Sunrise?

I'm gonna have a lemon drop. Or maybe a glass of wine... bought a nice Chilean wine for Dad for Father's Day, but I don't have to actually give it to him, right?

I'm glad to hear the Van-sama news wasn't as bad as you expected. Will it be done tonight?

Lemon drop: vodka (I think we use a citrus-flavored vodka), fresh lemon juice, and sugar-syrup, mixed up. Goes down really, really easily. We have them once a month or so.

I don't know about other mixed drinks, just that one. ;-)

Sounds good. I like citrusy stuff.

Ugh...today is crawling by even slower than yesterday did.

OK everyone! - ecurbh and I are headed up to meet the mooters! We're taking a camera and the capability to load pictures!

Cool!

You know, that would almost be a mint julep if you added some crushed mint leaves to it. Sounds yummy. I normally don't drink anything but beer. But I'm in the mood for some nice refreshing cocktail type thing.

Today's slow, but... it's Friday. I did my half day at the client site, stopped at the wine store, and got to the office. I've barely settled in here, and I'll be going home in three hours. And, I've got music.

I want to go to the bookstore this weekend!

Really? I've never had a mint julep - we were going to do that for the Kentucky Derby, but ended up with margaritas instead.

I am almost afraid to google it. You know?

I have to work on Father's Day. :-(

Student orientation. WHY that weekend of all weekends????

Especially since I don't have Mom...I'm really ticked about it. But there aren't really any other options. And it's right during the best hours of the day - about noon to 6PM.

On the other hand, I can use the overtime. *sigh*

Oh, man, that's no fun at all!

Have you had any chance to bug your sibs about the Colorado trip? I have to work on researching apartment complexes this weekend so when we go out there we know where to focus.

I've had little opportunity to bug them, since the phone has been out so long. It's horrible being out of touch so much of the time. And cell phones wouldn't be a solution...they don't work from the house.

Stupid phone company...

That is annoying. They don't have internet access, either?

Oh, forgot to tell you, I stayed up and finished "Dracula" last night. Quite enjoyed it. It wasn't that scary. Actually the ending was almost anticlimactic - like he just decided to stop writing.

I see why it's a classic, though! You need to borrow it when you run out of books.

They only have dial-up. Nothing else available so far. So...phone out, internet out.

I still have awhile before I'll run out of books, but I'll let you know if and when I decide to read Dracula!

Dialup... shaking my head... I've already got high-speed internet access budgetted for my apartment.

It hit me the other night how lovely it will be to not share a bathroom. I had to remove a half-dozen videotapes before I could shower. A certain little brother likes hauling videotapes around and leavcing them strange places.

Woo-hoo!!!

Margaret just called. They have phone!

I hope they at least get a chunk off their monthly bill for being without it so long. That's ridiculous, IMO.

All right!

I wouldn't mind the phone not ringing, but no internet would kill me.
