Thank you all for coming! And for everyone watching and participating from home via that camera, we hope you can enjoy the day ~almost~ as much as being there!
Thank you master dwarf!
Tomorrow we are taking my VCR up to the beach house to work on editing the tape of the ceremony and the plane part. Maybe I'll be able to hear the pastor and remember what I agreed to. The actual event is a bit of a blur! ;~D
Wondering how hard it is to make mpegs... OT - you can make VCR tapes from computer files.... can you do it the other way around or do you know what it would take?
Heh...we had to look at our wedding pics to remember who was there.
Landing... Few people on the beach really knew what was up yet, so he was photographing it just out of curiousity. I think they thought maybe floatplanes just land out here all the time. ;~D
Now he thinks there's something to it. He had walked a ways down the beach and is coming back!
Now we are leaving...
We did a few low flybys!
Great frameable shot.... that is ecurbh's parents waving. They are the ones my dad ~most~ wanted to give cool surprise and memory to.
Morning Hair; really great set of pictures, it is a beautiful setting. btw, that bridge is really low, flying under it would have touchy, imho. Thanks for posting these.
So, I never did catch on, were you guys surprised too? Or did you know?
Back later. Gotta take Jr. to the church, then gonna run some errands on the way home.
In the video it's funny.... he took his time getting any altitude, and the people on the beach were actually wondering if he saw that there was a BRIDGE COMING UP! We went real low over it.
Corin.... we knew about it. Dad thought that up ~months~ ago, I think in one of the first conversations when I said I wanted to have the wedding there. "Hey wouldn't it be coool if..." But he MADE us keep it secret. Said the best impact would be a surprise and he was right. I am just amazed we didn't leak it out, we were so excited!
Good Morning All. This Saturday has commenced like many others, coffee, a walk with Gypsy around a quadrant of our 'shire' (all is well in the se quad today), checked out a home undergoing renovation, delivered the last of the canna bulbs to a friend at the Barber Shop and a bit of freeping.
However, today is a bit different for us. Last Wednesday we lost a good friend, the wake was last night and funeral is today, I am honored to be a pall bearer.
We moved into our home in 1976, they were our next door neighbors until 1999. Watched the four girls grow up, get married, have children of their own. A very nice family all of whom still live in our town.
Our friend was a Navy Vet of the Korean War, came home married his high school sweetheart and opened a one chair barber shop, ran it himself till he retired a number of years ago. He was gentleman, devoted to his family and outgoing in his volunteer work. He will be missed by many in our area.
There were once many such as he, but their ranks grow thin. His children and grandchildren will doubtless instill the same love of family and country as he had in the coming generations.
Your thoughts about your friend show a lot of love and respect. Sorry you've lost him.
I think it was one of our better ones.... we usually don't earn a second glance, bein' pretty plain quiet folk!
Morning. Nice plane! Did you have fun reading the thread's reaction? It was quite something.
Nice day here. I'm going to be seriously looking at the apartment listings today.
We had a blast reading the thread's reaction. I'm gonna print out the pages of the live thread posts for our album. Not many weddings have a written running commentary!
great pictures!!
Eep - oh, great, it'll live on for posterity. Not what I had in mind.
It's a great idea. ;-)
I think we'll post a new thread this morning too! Since... I think we'd now admit people on other-than-wedding business!
But this thread will be part of our keepsakes, I think!
Great, let's call it "No Orcs Allowed" this time.
New thread is all ready..... grab your cloak!
