I may be taking a trip next week, too, though we haven't figgered where. My brother has next week off and wants to go somewhere.
We may just head east and a bit north until we hit something interesting. New Brunswick, say. Bring a tent or two and just stop where we want.
If you go too far east, you'll hit the ocean. Is that interesting?
It sounds like great fun, though. When we both get back from our Adventures, let's compare notes.
Here she is! You can note in this picture, if you look carefully, more soldiers in the background...hard to tell, though.
Also, note the patch on the soldier's left arm? That's exactly like the one she gave us...

We may not go anywhere that far. But I'd kinda like to go to Maine.
But man...wish I wasn't such a coward and somewhat broke. Somewhere like PEI would be wayyy cool. And that's doable as a several day trip, especially if we stopped in Maine for the first night. There's a monestary with a guesthouse in Kennebunk - I've stayed there before with Mom - that would be fairly inexpensive, plus it's just a nice place.
We sat and visited so long that the seat left a pattern on our behinds!
Looks like she has the Big Red 1 on both arms. We were awarded that same patch on June 5th. We were also awarded five others, but that is the one we are wearing here. After we get home we can choose which one we want to wear.
On another note, you probably read about all the car bombs in Mosul today. Some were a few blocks from our camp. Lots of windows blown out around camp, but no one here hurt. We had some debris thrown our way too.

Yeah, they have lots of Anne of Green Gables things.
But I have a feeling we wouldn't make it THAT far, leastways not on this trip. But someday, definitely. It's just unbelievably gorgeous up there.

I would like to say that Scott's wife was an absolute jewel. You know it must have been a bit stressful on her, having these people she didn't know at all invade her home, but she handled it with grace and kindness and I felt completely at ease and welcome in her home. (Well, the pillow she gave me was a bit uh, stiff...)
It started getting late, here, though...and I dozed off while we were talking and when I woke up, I found my eyes had dried out. I sprayed my eye spray into my eyes and freaked them out a bit...they thought I was spraying Binanca or hairspray into my eyes!
That was kinda funny...
WN's still in the state.... visiting folk in Eastern Washington. She actually leaves Sunday.
