Thank you all for coming! And for everyone watching and participating from home via that camera, we hope you can enjoy the day ~almost~ as much as being there!
Every time I come home, the thread is pretty deserted...
Ugh, long day. Had to deal with databases and the install program of Dooom. But it was a nice drive home - went with Dad, he had his car, so on the way home he put the top down. My hair's all straggly now.
Gots to do my workout so I can work on apartment research tonight. Less than a week until my trip to Colorado to house-hunt.
I'm still here.
Are you going to Colorado by yourself to hunt for the apartment? And tell me again, when is your actual move?
Later folks. Gotta go take Luke and Nana to church tonite. No choir practice (since half of 'em are in Slovakia), so I'll prolly just sit and read.
Progress on the home front tho. Nana is not only watching Luke, she's well enough to be cooking dinner. (She's wanted to, it's been a matter of able). It's weird, it's not just the stuff she's doing, but she seems to be melding into the family unit a little better.
I'll be on later. Have to stay up late. Jr. gets back around 1:30 a.m. ~ and they're almost always late.
C ya.
I'm heading home now too.
I'll check in later once I get everything settled in.
No one else seems interested.
"Every time I come home, the thread is pretty deserted..."
It was my fault: I mentioned Bakshi, which prompted Post #1952, scaring most folks away.
Well, at least you survived the databases of DoooOOOOOOOOmmmm and the car ride home and have straggly hair to show for it! :) Hope you manage to get some more writing in along with your apartment-hunting! I worked on mine a little last night but mostly in my head, didn't get much done on paper yet. Might rewatch "Spiderman" later, too.
See y'all later!
No, Dad and Mom are coming with me. My actual move is still up in the air. Probably I'll aim for moving in August 1st. No later than the middle of that week.
Do you know when you're going to start work after you move? I remember you mentioning you would keep your old job via telecommute but I think you also said you have to do work for the university as well.
There's some mention of an orientation the third week of August. I wouldn't really know, because I haven't had much info from them - in fact as we speak I'm trying to figure out who to email...
Now that you mention it if I remember right (which I may not) I think they give that info after you register and get your student aid, so maybe they won't tell you 'til orientation. Oh, well, in any case let's just hope you get assigned to Gryffindor! :)
Well, I just sent an email to the guy appointed as my temporary advisor. Since I'll be out there next week I'd really really like to get this taken care of. I'm a worrier and I'll sleep better once this is done.
"Well, I just sent an email to the guy appointed as my temporary advisor."
That'll work! Said a prayer on it to help you with the worrying. I'm like that, too, when it comes to doing the paperwork to sign up for stuff--for some reason I just get really anxious until it's taken care of, even though it usually goes smoothly.
Do you have any idea yet on what classes you'll be taking?
Not really, no. I have to keep my options open... want to take one with someone in the AI section, and one with someone in the systems section. And probably the third class in some area I'm not strong. Probably an undergraduate level course.
mmmmmm... projectiles...
AI and systems both sound interesting. What areas are you trying to strengthen in?
none of 'em... they ain't elves...
