In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....
Subbie Slip has her whip, handcuffs and legcuffs today. Havent checked my mood ring yet. Yall behave yourselves, ya hear? Principal JimRob is still out of town. I expect the utmost respect on this thread today. The Mods have been overworked lately.
The rest of the stuff is locked up in my drawer.

Good Morning Class. Welcome to School!
RULES: You must use the WFTD in a sentence for an A. For a + after your A, you must bring in a link of the word usage or something funny, a poem or some prose that will elucidate the word for us.
If you need to know how to link, come to the Subbies desk in the front of the class.
Headed for home........................................................................................
I still love the original. There was a funny thread about the original where kids put in words that weren't really words because they didn't know the correct words.
Something like: "I pledge my legions to the Flag," et cetera. It was really funny.
i do not know about that stuff at all, the pix of xs2pup on my page are all courtesy of MeekoneGOP, maybe he knows where you can do that.
W, I'm going to have to find the key to the drawer to get the whip out. It's high time. LOL!
thank you for taking up for me, slippy. i sense that W was impugning me in some way... ; )
impugning, impudent, imprudent, ...
Same in Alabama, except in some uppity areas. We still have a student led prayer at most high school graduations. We are just plain terrible.
bye
"Wichit stands" and "Invisible" are real tricky
Sorry I couldn't get here this morning, but at last I'm back-I had to dash to a jobsite as soon as I got hubby on his way...
Ketchup Kerry's speeches are scary
I find their vagaries unsettling
The only thing he promises
Is far more government meddling
Meddling with your health insurance
Regulating your job and pay
Regulating your every move
Till you have absolutely no say
If he wins, and gets his way
We'll all be out of luck-
I'm sure he'll even let "big brother"
Tell us all who we can f***
The Pledge, the National Anthem and Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA" were all done by the kindergarten class last week at Graduation.
oooooh T5 did a naughty....; )
Very good...........
Hubby and I just finished a conversation about the loss of our Republic if for some reason f'n wins in November.
Now I'm outta here - gots shopping to do...........see you all later!!!!
I didn't spell it out-and anyway, I'll bet he really would get off on micromanaging even that aspect of his "subjects" lives-he doesn't want to be president-he wants to be king over all of us lesser beings. Hell, he'd probably bring back the custom of droit de seigneur (sp?) at "peasant" weddings...
At both my kids college graduations last summer one in may the other in Aug, the National Athem was sung by the crowd and the Pledge of Allegence was recited by the crowd. About 2500 graduates and 5-7000 parents and other. Auburn is a State University.
I was moved.
My hubby and I discussed that too-we both said how glad we are we live in Texas/the southwest.
Since I'm alone for dinner tonight, I'm gonna have a steak and a steamed artichoke (hubby isn't that fond of artichokes). I'm also boiling some brine to make a few jars of dill pickles flavored with dill, garlic, green peppercorns and capers, since I have some time to burn.
sounds yummy!
