I learned about it this year -- I retired a flag that I had flown all during my brother's deployment and I wanted to take it down before it was truly disgraceful, so I did and I folded it the proper way and gave it to him when he returned.

I am sure that meant a great deal to him. That is a beautiful gift. I often give flags as baby gifts and 1st birthday gifts. If you contact your Representative you can get a flag that has flown over the capitol on a special date.

Today is also the 229^th Birthday of the United States Army. If our Flag is our title to Freedom, our Army is the guarantor of our Freedom, proud men and women who protect our cherished Liberty continuously.
