Awesome thread Star! My Great Grandfather, a Spanish American War Vet, taught me how to fold the flag....and we would wake every Am to put her up,and then take her down and fold her every night and place her upon an alter. He taught me a good deal about the flag during our folding sessions.

I learned about it this year -- I retired a flag that I had flown all during my brother's deployment and I wanted to take it down before it was truly disgraceful, so I did and I folded it the proper way and gave it to him when he returned.

FYI : Look in upper right corner of "My Comments" page.
Set it for "Brief" instead of Full.
You only will get title of thread and who pinged you.
No graphics will load.

I am sure that meant a great deal to him. That is a beautiful gift. I often give flags as baby gifts and 1st birthday gifts. If you contact your Representative you can get a flag that has flown over the capitol on a special date.

Bad Bad Leroy Brown

Click

Artist: Jim Croce
Song: Bad Bad Leroy Brown
Lyrics: Lyricsfreaks.com

Well the south side of chicago
Is the baddest part of town
And if you go down there
You better just beware
Of a man named leroy brown

Now leroy more than trouble
You see he stand ’bout six foot four
All the downtown ladies call him treetop lover
All the mens just call him sir

And it’s bad, bad leroy brown
The baddest man in the whole damn town
Badder than old king kong
And meaner than a junkyard dog

Now leroy he a gambler
And he like his fancy clothes
And he like to wave his diamond rings
In front of everybody’s nose
He got a custom continental
He got an eldorado too
He got a 32 gun in his pocket for fun
He got a razor in his shoe

And it’s bad, bad leroy brown
The baddest man in the whole damn town
Badder than old king kong
And meaner than a junkyard dog

Well friday bout a week ago
Leroy shootin’ dice
And at the edge of the bar
Sat a girl named doris
And ooh that girl looked nice
Well he cast his eyes upon her
And the trouble soon began
And leroy brown learned a lesson
’bout messin’ with the wife of a jealous man

And it’s bad, bad leroy brown
The baddest man in the whole damned town
Badder than old king kong
And meaner than a junkyard dog,

Well the two men took to fightin’
And when they pulled them from the floor
Leroy looked like a jigsaw puzzle
With a couple of pieces gone

And it’s bad, bad leroy brown
The baddest man in the whole damn town
Badder than old king kong
And meaner than a junkyard dog

"I am your title deed of freedom, which is yours to enjoy and hold in trust for posterity."

Today is also the 229th Birthday of the United States Army. If our Flag is our title to Freedom, our Army is the guarantor of our Freedom, proud men and women who protect our cherished Liberty continuously.

Well, Gang, the day room's shutting down, and it's time for the rack to be hit.

Thanks for staying up with me for a bit, and I'll try and get back tomorrow night!

Good Night, Canteen!
