'Saved!' Earns $2.5 Million Over Weekend (my title)

Guess they hoped to find an audience with this turkey ...

$2.5 million over 589 theaters is about $4244 per theater if my math is correct ...

Maybe they would find a bigger audience in Saudi Arabia or Pakistan ...

I'm sure that the makers will do a sequel satrizing Islam, right? Maybe we can see the lighter side of burkhas and honor killings.

no doubt ... wonder how they'd fair in an all-Islamic society like Saudi Arabia and then release a movie as you suggest ...

they'd be dead by dawn ... were they to get the world they hope for with this, methinks they might regret it ...

This is not a defense of snotty people, of course, simply that this movie has one agenda and it's pretty clear ...

Well, the Christian haters deserve to have a movie of their own I guess. I hope they had fun, and I hope they like warm climates.

maybe they should have prayed for a larger audience? ... LOL

you gotta love their mindset though ... "The Passion" goes over HUGE at the box office ... amazing numbers ...

so they thought, how about a movie that TRASHES Jesus and Christians!

Brilliant! (in their minds)

they probably would have made more money with one of Madonna's bombs ... I'm sure they were high-fiving each other on the set for getting out their "message" ...

I had hopes for Roger Ebert after his review of "The Passion" ... those hopes quickly faded with his thumbs-up on this waste of a 'film' ...

I saw "Saved" this weekend, and I saw "The Passion" when it first hit the theaters. Speaking strictly from the perspective of judging the quality of each as movies, "The Passion" was very good and "Saved" was average, with a few good moments thrown in.

That being said, I would love a satire of Islam. H*ll, maybe I'll outline the synopsis and script if anyone thinks I can find a producer.

I can't imagine what could be good about it, but of course, I haven't seen it and doubt that I ever will ...

frankly, I think they should make a movie about 9/11, that shows as much as they can recreate, what went on in those aircraft ... obviously it would be a lot of speculation but we do have some knowledge from the phone calls ...

I have a fascination with movies that deal from all angles with religion, belief systems, faith, politics and the like. And I love satire, which is why I gave "Saved" a shot. Again, it was average with a few chuckles. I wouldn't recommend it to either Christians or non-christians since there are so many other flicks out there. I would, however, recommend "The Day After Tomorrow." The special effects are incredible.

A movie about 9/11, if done well, would be both awesome and awe inspiring. It would also be a good counter Michael Whore's Fahrenheit 911 - a movie I will not see because that gasbag is trying to pawn it off as a documentary.

You won't find a producer/distributor for an anti-Islam film (comedy, drama, etc.).

CAIR will hit you on the "gentle" side as a "racist"/"hater" while Islamofascists will offer death threats with a bounty on your head. Even a pro-Islam film that depicts Mohammed where you can see him would earn you a death sentence.

Maybe a comedy about the Hollywood liberals favorite cult Scientology would have been better. Or the gibberish known as Kwanzaa.

So if I remember correctly this 'movie' was beaten by the Olsen twins 'New York Minute'.

Got to like it. Released to video (in theaters) beats hollyweird

Mary Kate and Ashley beat Mandy Moore (so far) ... let's hope it stays that way ...
