Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...That none have seen but we alone.
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Notice how she phrases this likes it's supposed to be some kind of treat for you, ecurbh. You'd better get used to this sort of thing.

I am in denial of Spongebob. At least there's no way anyone can make me go. It ain't happening.
I am, however, excited about going to Harry Potter this weekend. We might dress up. My sibs are happy about it, and my best friend saw the premiere and says it's really excellent. She should know, she's more into it than I am.

Not to us lazy apartment dwelling bachelors who somehow are apparently able to kill plants accidentally just by looking at them. What's the opposite of a green thumb?

As soon as the jedis finish lunch, I'm going dress shopping! I saw a great dress on TV the other day...a cotton one-piece pull-over sleeveless dress, floral print...
I figure something like that would be nice to wear on the beach...but you say it might be cold?

babygirl has definite hobbit tendencies. She knows all about second breakfast, brunch, elevensies, noon meal, tea time, and all the others.

Yeah, but you can't avoid the previews. I think we'll wait a week or so for Harry Potter. Don't wanna fight the crowds.

We'll go opening night... but for us, this is almost the equivalent of an LotR premiere. My sibs and I were the first set of costumed weirdos to get our books last time, in Borders at midnight.
We ran out chanting "We got Potter" (to applause, I might add) and only my mother was able to force us to go to bed...
It's just fun to have something to do with all the sibs. Even LotR, the two littlest boys have to wait for the dvd. Mom wasn't thrilled with the eleven year old going with, last time.

Do you have Splenda? We've had wonderful success making Splenda ice cream. It tastes like the real thing. A little wetter than usual, maybe.

good idea. I do have splenda. I have not used it except for making cranberry bread so far.
Harry Potter? This week? I must have been preoccupied not to know that. Gotta take elf-boy to see that one.
Hmm, typing one-handed is much slower than I am accustomed to typing.

There is FINALLY a brand of Splenda sweetened ice cream available here. Haven't tried it yet, though...something to save for when I'm a little closer to where I wanna be, I guess.
But I imagine the homemade stuff would be wonderful!

I'm not sure if you know the series, but this movie is going to be much darker than the other two. How old is elf-boy? It actually could be scary.

What brand? The only one I actually like is "Pierre's", and there's only one store that sells that.

Splenda is so expensive though!! and the way we go through sugar here...I end up using Sweet'n'Low in my tea a lot, but hubby uses gobs of sugar.
I am pleased though to see that there is low-carb cranberry juice though...I love the stuff, but stopped drinking juice because it was so high in sugars and carbs.
Abigail sounds like a hobbit to me!! So sweet! I want a baby!

Healthy Choice. :\ I don't have real high hopes for it. I've seen Breyer's, too, somewhere...not in my town, but in the other town where I do any major shopping. I think that'd be better.
