Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...That none have seen but we alone.
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I think I dropped the box of snuff in the Bag of Holding I had stored in the Portable Hole. I knew I shouldn't have let that merchant talk me into buying that thing--sure the lowered encumbrance is nice but is it really worth having a movement rate of 12" rather than 6" when you can't find your Wand of Magic Missiles when you need it? Next time I go adventuring I'm taking a regular large sack and a leather backpack and that's it!--that's all I need--except maybe this remote control. . .The remote control and the paddleball, and that's all I need!. . .And this chair. The remote control and the paddeball and the chair, and that's all I need!!!. . .And my dog. . .[Growl!]. . .I guess I don't need my dog. . .The remote control and the paddleball and the chair, and that's it!!!

I would really like a Kahlua & Cream right now.
I'll settle for pretending I'm watching you drink instead. :-)

Hey there... :-)
Finally went to the Ray Charles site and watch his flash of God Bless America in the tribute to 9/11.

Actually, the link (for some reason) is "America the Beautiful" but the song is God Bless America. Can't 'splain that.

What was the reaction, at choir, of the folks you hadn't seen for a while? Were they impressed?
