Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...That none have seen but we alone.
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Got a funnie about that...
While I was stationed over there I had a daily courier run up to 7ATC HQ. THe town of Amberg was about halfway. In the middle of town was a parking lot with a sign, "Nur fur PKW". I picked up enough Deutsch to figger that meant "Only for" PKWs, whatever that was; I knew about the PanzerKampfWagen, but this was a civilian urban area.
Turns out it was "PersonalKraftWagen", and "Nur fur PKW" meant "Employee Parking Only".

looks like Barry Manilow...LOL! Could be--lots of times those characters were caricatures of somebody or other. I also remember a skit with a Beatles-like character singing:
Letter C, letter C. . .
:)

Yeah, but it didn't get any better than Hammy Swinnette singin' "Stand by your Can."

No squirrels, chipmunks, bunnies, or deer this year. Got aphids, though. And I couldn't find a dust gun at Home Depot....sheesh!

Corin and g'nad....the Golden Years...LOL! I'd love to hear Statler and Waldorf's commentary on Bakshi :)
Why do we always come here?
I guess we'll never know
It's like a kind of torture
to have to watch the show. ..

LOL!!
Sometimes it's hard to be a trashcan
When folks get piggier each day
They throw their trash down
They throw it all 'round
But no one's throwing it away
This is a park it ain't no pig sty
Why don't you lend a helping hand
And toss your trash in
This big old trash bin
'Cause after all it's just a can
Background pigs: Oink, oink, oink, oink
Stand by your can
Give it your trash to cling to
Make it the one you run to
With all your peels and wrappers
Stand by your can
And give it all your garbage
Don't make a mess-up if you land
Stand by your can
Oink, oink, oink, oink
Stand by your can
And give it all your garbage
Don't make a mess-up if you land
Stand by your can!
Trashcan: Oh Hammy, thanks for putting garbage back in my life!
Hammy: You deserve it darlin'

Lemme get this straight:
Stanley Cup. Hockey. Ice. Florida.
One of these things... is not like the others. One of these things... doesn't belong.
