What would be the best or better magazine or newspaper to get my avid reader liberal father for father's day? The Weekly Standard, National Review, or something else? I'd get the Limbaugh Letter but I know my father would never read that.
You mean one issue or a subscription?
I also had a subscription to the weekly edition of The Washington Times-in my opinion, the best daily in the United States-at one point in time.
If I were going to give someone a subscription to a conservative/right-leaning publication as a Father's Day present, I would probably choose something along the lines of Commentary or The New Criterion, which are extraordinarily literate, scholarly magazines, though both are a bit too pricey for my taste.
You could also enroll him in the Conservative Book Club-I ordered several fascinating tomes from them several years ago-which has the best political/cultural exegeses out there! It also offers books at bargain prices!
I hope I've helped you a little bit, or at the very least, gotten the discussion rolling.
Just get the free online newsletter "The Federalist" - it's all you need!
In this order:
1. The New American.
2. The American Conservative.
3. The Schwartz Report
4. American Spectator
5. Reason
6. National Review
