Anyone watching the OC? Don't read yet if you haven't watched tonight's episode.

Anybody out there watching the OC tonight? I am watching it and am very interested in how they are treating the teen pregnancy/teen abortion issue. I mean abortions by teens, not of teens. If we allowed abortion of teens who knows what would happen (wasn't that a south park episode?).
Anyway this is my break from studying for my Contracts final (it's tomorrow) so I thought I'd still engage in some intellectual debate.
TOPICS: Chit/Chat; Health/Medicine; Society; TV/Movies
KEYWORDS: abortion; teens; theoc
Come on, I know you all have something to say.

Am I really the only Freeper who watches this show? Wow that's sad. I guess you'll all have to wait until the fall to start watching the new season. Anyway I thought they did a fairly decent job addressing the abortion issue, although I do have a few bones to pick.

"The OC" is a show on Fox. Stands for Orange County. It's kind of a next generation of 90210 (please tell me you know what that is). Anyway it's a huge hit on TV and one of my guilty pleasures. I was interested to see it address such a heavy issue, and thought some other Freepers might have something to say about it. Maybe I am the only GenX'er here, so I'll just go back to my homework now ...
Sorry if I made anyone feel old! :P But really, my dad watches this show too and he's a Freeper! (TruthShallSetYouFree). Of course I've probably just ruined his reputation for making that public ...

Not to worry champ. You don't make me feel old. My creaky ass back and sagging man-tits do that for me.

LOL! I'm as lost as Robert Byrd at a rap concert. I don't stay up the latest shows, songs, bathroom wall writings, etc. because they almost always turn my stomach or piss me off.

Well so much for engaging in a debate. It could have been a good one, too.
Let's not reinforce the general idea that older conservatives are out of touch, okay? I really think it matters if kids are watching shows that discuss teen pregnancy and abortion. Even if YOUR kids aren't watching The OC, most of high school and college aged kids are, and it matters what kind of information they are getting, and if it is reinforced or repudiated by their parents. This is a pretty relevant issue and I look forward to actually discussing it in the future.
Soapbox aside, you guys are actually pretty funny. Thanks for the laugh. I have an exam in a few hours so I better go hit the books, again.

TV is a great wasteland. Yes, I knew what it stands for, but I don't care.
PS: I've got hats older than you. :)

Missed 90210 too. Will continue to do so.

Of course I've probably just ruined his reputation for making that public ...Jerry Seinfeld - The Beard
At Jerry's apartment. Elaine: Melrose Place?
Jerry: Yes. Melrose Place.
Elaine: I just didn't know you watched that.
Jerry: Well I do.
Elaine: I mean every time I mention it you never say anything or join in the conversation.
Jerry: Well maybe I was a little embarrassed.
Elaine: You mean this whole time we could have been discussing Sydney and Michael and Jane...
Jerry: And Billy and Jake and Allison, yes we could have discussed it.
Elaine: Why? Why were you so embarrassed?
Jerry: The point is I'm going to be taking this lie detector test and that needle's going to be going wild.
Elaine: That is *so* stupid. Why don't you just confess?
Jerry: It's too stupid to confess. Look at what I'm confessing to.
Elaine: So what are you going to do?
Jerry: I don't know. Maybe I can beat the machine.
Elaine: Oh, who do you think you are? Castanza?
Jerry: Hey you know what? I have access to one of the most deceitful, duplicitous, deceptive minds of our time. Who better to advise me?
