Creeks are nice. Mine in the backyard is kind of a halfway between a creek and a river--it's just upstream of a river that was dammed up. So there's not too many fish--the trout and salmon stop just short at the dam--but a lot of other wildlife. About this time of year the frogs will start coming out and croaking. I haven't tried swimming in it yet but plan to after it warms up a bit. I like rowing on it towards dusk.

That sounds really nice! I wonder if it would work to stock it? You could have your own private reserve of fish!! I wish I could say we could go swimming in this one, but I know for a fact that alligators are (still) all too prevalent here (yes, even in Texas!!) and its so muddy and dirty, I am not sure I would enjoy it. Our family used to have property on the Guadelupe River in Sequin that we used for 4th of July picnics/family reunions; that, however, got usurped by people that were only nominally connected to the family and so now all the memories I had of that childhood are just that : memories. Hubby was almost willing to let this lot pass when it seemed we werent going to sell the house, but I got sick just thinking of it going to someone else.

Am jealous though : I bet it has lots of nice trees and nice water in it!
