No, some of his books had similar premises...

Which of Asimov's books have you read and which would you recommend to a relative Asimov newbie? I'm familiar with the basics but want to get more into his work.

Foundation, Foundation and Empire, Second Foundation. I didn't like Foundation's Edge or Foundation and Earth. Prelude to Foundation and Forward the Foundation were good.

The Caves of Steel, The Naked Sun, The Robots of Dawn.

I, Robot. Robot Dreams.

Those are the important ones.

Jen, I think the murder mystery I'm (mis)remembering is the plot to The Caves of Steel.
