Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Hi all!!!
New digs again!!! Ai Ai Ai!! (are elves familiar with Chihuahua?)
Have completely dismantled my blog page. It was so overrun with comment spammers I just gave up. Now I only post on Live Journal, which seems to be a much more laid back community. They are a bit more sensitive and not a whole lot are inclined to debate (at least, not a lot), but I feel like I can post there any time I please without feeling that if I miss a day, I will have lost my 'audience.' I am enjoying it a lot. Plus there are some very creative/artistic people who post on there, and I don't feel like I am going to bore people if I decide that for a day or two I'd rather talk about how Manly Jack Aubrey is over how Manly President Bush is (which both are, but the two arent exactly the same, you know?!)
anyway, that's what I ahve been doing, including trying to wean myself of the computer as well. I quit going to the Khazad-dum forum because I got ticked off for being called on the carpet for things that had never been a problem up until the time two new posters to the thread I managed decided to stir up trouble and bad mouth the characters/books we were talking about. THEN I was in trouble for going slightly off-topic. It was really stupid and I decided I was tired of walking on egg-shells with these people.
Have been catching up to some crochet and gardening. I love my new house!
Hope all is well with everyone! Hair, you are SUCH a wonderful Hobbit Hole Keeper!

I like there being non-political threads.
A place to go away from it for a bit.
I've been spotted meandering around random threads lately, so it's timeI drop by and relax some.

Sounds relaxing
And I go over to the DOSE thread to gey away from the Bush bashers.
It's not supposed to be a political thread but I'm afraid it's subject matter invites the TROLLS, I think you should go over there from time to time to catch some of them trolls. LOL!

Have a possible one that dropped into a FAMPL thread.
An older FAMPL thread, one that has since been superceded with newer more accurate info.
Makes me wonder why he signed up today just to hit that OLD thread.

doing fine! Have been watching a certain English captain more than a Uniformed Prince of Halflings of late...I got rather burned out on LOTR due to a 'friend' of mine whose entire conversation circled around her favorite bits and characters and no matter how I tried to change the subject, always steered the conversation around to her way of thinking. It got old fast. But there are other reasons why I really don't wish to associate with her anymore.
I like to break away from things myself...gives me a chance to get a breather so that when I do return, I have a fresher perspective...and perhaps a bit more humor about it. Patrick O'Brian has turned out to be the perfect diversion. Its so unlike Tolkien and fantasy that emotions I had long thought gone have been resurrected. I have SUCH a crush on Jack Aubrey, and delight all the time on Stephen Maturin and O'Brian writes so wonderfully, I am having such fun. I am sure by the time LOTR:ROTK comes out in Extended form, I will be ready to view it with a fresh eye. And then I'll be wanting more pictures of Ernil i Pheriannath!
