The Hobbit Hole IX - A sudden tree or standing stone

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A sudden tree or standing stone

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

One of my favorite little lines in the movies...when Boromir gets the door shut and says "[On top of everything else,] they have a cave-troll [and now we're really screwed]!"

I am *really* liking this "work-at-home" concept today! I resisted doing more than an occasional lurk and checking of the email and completed the work I needed to get done in much shorter time than I would have at the office with interruptions!

Now, I am totally OUT of guacamole and I have a south Texas native due to arrive here in 13 hours or so... must go to WalMart.

uh... know you'll have to wait for ecurbh to get done before ya read this... but, wanted to share my enthusiasm for working at home! Not work itself. Just getting to do what I am required to do in my own den!

I bet being so rich you don't have to work is even cooler. I'd like to give that a try.

"It is a fact that in the entire Vietnam War we did not lose one major battle.
We lost the war at home and at home John Kerry was the field general"

- Bob Elder, Swift Boat Veteran For Truth

"I do not believe John Kerry is fit to be commander in chief of the U.S. armed forces,"
said retired Rear Adm. Roy Hoffmann, chairman of the organization.
"This is not a political issue. It is a matter of honesty."

Hanoi Kerry at his "moment of glory."
What a piece of ******
The media WILL NOT mention this book.
I will!
The cover is a insult to Iwo Jima vets,
then it gets worse towards Viet Nam vets.
I was there the same time Hanoi Kerry was.
I served on the destroyer USS Corry DD-817 which supplied Swift Boats (PBR's)
and gave gunfire support in North AND South Viet Nam.
My ship may have even supplied Hanoi Kerry's boat.
I VOW I will do everything I LEGALLY can
to keep this traitor from being elected.
I owe it to those who gave their all.

I hope a dashing swordsman dressed in black shows up to rescue me.

Hmm--unfortunately I don't have a picture of Bakshi Boromir dressed in black, so I have to dig a bit--let me see what have I got here. . .how's this?

Black Knight

You've got mail on the latest cookie report. How long before you get to go home and watch the new Kenshin? :)

Shudder! Was that the sound the Nazgul made when they were flying overhead?--or maybe the sound of the Watchers at Cirith Ungol :)

I don't think he's fit to flip hamburgers at McDonald's.
