I was watching it, but went to check laundry, then saw the truck going off, and roll. For those who saw it, did he slow down, or just drive off, or what?
I thought maybe he was going to cross the median to go the other way, but hit the bumps and rolled.

I watched the replay. It did appear he was thrown out of the passenger side window or door. I think he went offroad to try to reach a perpendicular road that had no direct freeway access. He almost made it but the lip of the road surface was high enough to cause the vehicle to go out of control when he hit it at speed. He then careened across that road and rolled the truck in the grass just beyond it.

The action of the vehicle did look like he was maneuvering to escape. I'm probably putting too much reliance on the seat belt holding. Those things do weaken with age and wear & tear.
