    Funnel clouds pass area by

Southeast Missourian

Funnel clouds were sighted Saturday evening in Cape Girardeau and Bollinger counties, but they passed through the area without touching down.

Around 7:30 p.m. the Department of Public Safety at Southeast Missouri State University sounded a tornado siren when a tornado warning was issued for Cape Girardeau County.

There were unofficial reports of funnel clouds north of Advance, Mo., and west of Jackson as well as large hail and strong winds.

A Southeast spring football game was called off with less than five minutes to go in the fourth quarter. At Rose Theatre on the university campus, the audience was temporarily relocated to the basement of the building when the warning siren went off.

And just across town here, we got no wind and just a gentle rain. These tornado warnings are nerve wracking. A warning means that one has actually been spotted. A watch means that conditions are favorable for a tornado to form. No one around here really pays attention to a watch, as they are so common. We lucked out again here.

I used to dread the warnings so much if on shift at the hospital. Security actually went up on the roof to act as spotters. When the weather code was announced over the PA, we had to rush patients in rooms on the outside walls to the hallway and provide tanks for those on oxygen. Those that could not be moved, we put their tray over their heads. Then we had to rush to the critical care areas to standby for those on ventilators. One night the electricity was going in and out in a matter of seconds. Our generators kept sensing power on and then shut down. It was pitch black for about thirty seconds, but felt like an hour. After that mess, they installed battery lighting all over.

All in all, I'd rather go through a hurricane than a tornado.

She's not running for office, or promising a "two'fer" presidency, so why should she disclose anything about her finances?

This is a bad idea that someone's hatched.

I'd rather she just keep refusing to release them, myself. It shows her and her husband's arrogance.
To: lodwick
Oh, I know it is not a law that any candidate do so, but most do and it is usually a joint filing and the information is released. Poor old Kerry, he can't talk his wife into releasing them and he can't take her SUV away from her. What a wimp. And he thinks he can run the country? LOL
To: lodwick
Where you been hiding out Kerry wife money could be used in is run which is not allowed, and to see the where she donates because it been noted by some she has sent money to terrorists organization.

She as first lady will be in a influenal postition!

Just a guess, but she's probably lots smarter than to file a joint return with goofy - and if they had, wouldn't the information already be out there?

Another guess, but weren't many folks duped by nice sounding muslim charities here?

Did everyone sleep in today?

She's not running for office, or promising a "two'fer" presidency, so why should she disclose anything about her finances? She's uses her money to support anit-american groups that are trying to change the out come of the election .. plus that loan Kerry took out on their house in Boston was also used with her money .. and that isn't the first time they pulled that stunt .. they did the same thing in his 96 election shortly after they purchased that house
Does she legally have to release them?
 No ..
But if she wants to be the next First Lady ... she will have no choice
With that said .. Terri filed for an extension on her returns to by her some time

Thanks Loddy. I'm looking for God's blessings starting Tuesday. The trial starts Tuesday. Was supposed to be Monday but the court docket is so full we got bumped ahead one day. They go first however, so I may not be on the stand until about Thurs or Friday. My prayer life has picked up considerably!!

Don't know but maybe it was a FORBIDDEN link! grrrrrrrrrrrrr
To: Mo1
THAT is great. I especially liked the Bush/Gore one and of course the ver last one regarding Clinton. Somebody had a lot of time of their hands. But brilliant.
