Oh, FGS ! What a nasty article. Translation: They won't they sit for an interview with me. I'm persona non grata in the Bush White House ... Robin Givhan has completely out done herself this time. You remember Givhan, don't you ? She was one of the most vicious attack dogs about Katherine Harris' appearance in 2000. She has also made some very tacky and classless remarks about Laura's fashion sense and entertaining style. She has been just as catty about Dr Condoleeza Rice, too. Oddly enough, unless she has recently undergone a massive makeover, Givhan has a face that would stop an eight day clock and I've never seen her in anything but a black.

LOL. I think she looks most like her father when she flashes that little mischievous grin like his.

"A major turn-off for me is to go to a restaurant and having the order-taker covered with tats and sporting all sorts of piercings...especially nose and tongue nails." That is so disgusting, especially tatoos on women. As for all the piercings, they make it look like their heads are bolted together.

"These days, I think it is a felony to even suggest approaching mercury without a full enviro suit and external air system, much less applying it to a human body. They don't even sell mercury thermometers any more, except possibly special lab thermometers."
It is truly a miracle that any of us survived to adulthood what with all the evil and dangerous practices we were subjected to, what with Merthiolate, Mercurochrome, mercury thermometers, cigarette smoke and no car seats or bicycle helmets. Gads! What horrible parents we all had! < /sarcasm >

It truly is a miracle. We always had Mercurochrome around, and used it liberally on scrapes and scratches. We also had mercury thermometers, and no one of us kids bit into it and swallowed the mercury. Just amazing.

My Mom is apparently back to her normal self. I asked my sister to look in on her and see how she was doing. She called before going over. Whew! Mom told her she wasn't an invalid, and not to come over - she's fine, leave her alone.
Well. OK.
She's pretty independent and doesn't like anyone hovering over her, so she's well on the road to recovery, juding by her feistiness!

That's great news about your mom. That independent spirit goes a long way, that's for sure.

The four year old grandson is sleeping over tonight and he and I will be spending the day together tomorrow. I asked him what he wanted to do special and he said "I want you to watch Shreck (sp?) with me. This child is a movie nut. He is already begging his PaPa for this Shreck II that he saw recently at the movies. No one can convince him that it is not available in stores yet.
Soooo, what is a Shreck and what should I expect? LOL
