Mo, don't even joke to a southerner about this plant. And I guess you think fire ants can be controlled, also? LOL
It doesn't like cold...

In Georgia, the legend says
That you must close your windows
At night to keep it out of the house.
The glass is tinged with green, even so...
From the poem, "Kudzu,"
by James Dickey
But I have been set straight on that issue
Not far enough, but then that's just me. LOL! I have one on one side (an older lady with a Yorkie, I think), one behind (a woman and her 11 or 12 year old son), and then there are a couple more across the road, but I don't know anything about them. They were cooking out last night and there were a couple of preteen boys and I guess their dad, but I don't really know.
Yes, there is lots of sun and shade and it will be really nice. Time to invest in lawn furniture. Lately I've been having this urge to acquire some of those awful, pink flamingos and other fake animals (as if we don't have enough real ones). I think that has to be the southern curse. I WILL resist!
Here is a view from the north side of the yard.
.
Of course! I'm always nice.
Wow, it seems to be a huge lot or acre. Oh, what the hell, just get one of those deer statues that you can decorate with orange vests during deer hunting season. I'm sure you know what I mean. LOL
Need a new computer Gateway

It's not nice to try and sucker tease the yankee.
Ok .. now I feel sorry for the poor thing .. *L*
ROTFLMBO! You're so cute, Mo. I am dying here trying to picture you with a water cannon full of pesticide in one hand and a flame thrower in the other, trying to defeat the advancing kudzu. Has all the makings of a sci-fi movie. Maybe Val could film it.
That always make me think of Jeff Foxworthy's redneck joke: "Rednecks with money put fake deer on their lawns. Rednecks without money drive by and shoot them." LOL.
It really is pretty big. That shed in the foreground goes with the house, too. It's big as well. Lots of room inside. This might give you some perspective...this is a portion of the front yard from the kitchen window, part that you don't see in the shot from the front.
.
HA! .. betcha I could kill it too
Got gasoline?
I need on of them for the kids ... they keep taking mine

About Gateway
LOL! She's holding her own. I expect she is suffering some culture shock though. She was raised in Brooklyn, but has lived the last few years in upstate New York. Now she's in deliverance country. Hehehehe.... hey, we get our amusement where we can.
I am laughing so hard. I had never heard that joke.
But, I ask you this as a southern woman to another southern woman. Why do we love to put fake animals on our lawns? I will confess that I have a goose that I dress in finery on my porch, according to the holiday and weather.
But, I have never, ever, and never will have a flamingo in my yard. As if they are southern, really. LOL
Mo, people deliberately set sections of forest on fire here with minimum results. It's quite wet a lot of the time. It might even be relatively safe for you to operate a grill.
Well, that pic is great. You shouldn't have to a whole lot of refurbishing.
