Wouldn't you know, a danged yankee horse won the Derby. Oh well, it WAS a neat storybook kind of tale....even if he was a yankee.

Westy, I don't think I will ever be able to camp without some faucet for fresh water nearby. But, I can do without those full hook-ups. I like the sites in state parks away from the crowd.
But, still, it will be a challenge to again organize a tiny space for a wonderful camping adventure. Now that there will be three very young grandkids along, it is more of a challenge.
I have been calling on my memories to do this. Did you know they sell portable potties with a seat and disposable bags for fourteen dollars. Hey, they will think it is a real commode. And they hate and fear showers, so I have already purchased a little swimming pool that can be filled with water for all three to jump in for their evening bath.
And the biggest challenge of all will be when they find out there is no tv cartoons, video movies or computer while camping. Yes, just fishing, swimming, a campfire, ghost stories and talking.
Somehow, I think this will be some of their best memories when they are grown.

I had a Portapotty I carried in the VW van...It had a water tank and waste tank and flushed...Served me well...
The State Parks around here get crowded pretty early and they take reservations...Just to many people RVing or camping...
I do wish you all the luck on your new adventure.....

It won only because it was being chased by the sweetly dispositioned southern horses.
Winning by running for one's life isn't really winning at all.

In all fairness, it was a well-deserved win. That horse at one point wasn't even expected to live. He recovered and was trained by an unknown up in Pennsylvania. Won his first race with a jockey who was an unknown too, and has never lost a race. Maybe he will be the first triple crown winner since Seattle Slew. That'd be really cool since Seattle Slew was the winner the last time I was at the Derby.

At least it wasn't owned by some wealthy Arab this time around.

The perfect day is being enjoyed in CenTex - simply beautiful.
Good morning, everyone.

Good morning, it is lovely today. My ears are still literally ringing though from the Atomic Punks concert at Anton's last night. I don't know if they were good, but they sure as heck were LOUD!
To: ValerieUSA
Opps, I said "morning." *L* I know it is afternoon - the library deosn't open until the afternoon on Sunday. Tomorrow I get my own computer back! YEAH!
