Be a Clown

If everybody loves a clown, then what’s a clown to love?
This Romeo has placed her on the parapet above,
A pretty damsel in distress? No, she seems amused somehow,
Could it be there’s something funny in the way she sees him now?

Presenting her a flower as he makes a little bow,
And all too soon I’m sure he will be uttering a vow,
“To you, my love, I promise that I always will be here,
To be your laughing partner and to fill your world with cheer.”

She’s obviously flattered, but remains a little coy,
Could she perhaps do better than this funny little boy?
Though years remain before she really has to make a choice,
I hope that she will listen to her own internal voice.

Something she should consider as she ponders her big day,
Regardless of his handsome looks, or how he earns his pay.
Someday when she becomes someone else’s better half,
Life is always pleasant with someone who makes you laugh.

HAY!!! I had a wonderful vacation and I see you all have been having a very wonderful time!!! Hay I just did another one...I don't know if it is a poem or not probably a short story...I don't really know well anyway here it is:
The clouds rumble as the sky darkens.
The sun goes down and the figures stand firm.
Then as lightning cracks the swords clang,
Words are thrown as the rain pours over the red ground.
The swords slid against one another!
Another swing as the swords turn red the light flashes again.
Tongue against tongue, sword against sword, for honor and valor
Then as the clouds rumble again the sword strikes hard and all seems still.
The battle, has come to an end, both lay dead.
As the blood flows forth the word is spoken "those who live by the sword die by the sword.

Allyson has discovered Shakespeare and this is one of her favorites.

A Midsummer Night's Dream
from Act 5, Scene 1

More strange than true: I never may believe
These antique fables, nor these fairy toys.
Lovers and madmen have such seething brains,
Such shaping fantasies, that apprehend
More than cool reason ever comprehends.
The lunatic, the lover and the poet
Are of imagination all compact:
One sees more devils than vast hell can hold,
That is, the madman: the lover, all as frantic,
Sees Helen's beauty in a brow of Egypt:
The poet's eye, in fine frenzy rolling,
Doth glance from heaven to earth, from earth to heaven;
And as imagination bodies forth
The forms of things unknown, the poet's pen
Turns them to shapes and gives to airy nothing
A local habitation and a name.
Such tricks hath strong imagination,
That if it would but apprehend some joy,
It comprehends some bringer of that joy;
Or in the night, imagining some fear,
How easy is a bush supposed a bear!
