Free Republic Mock NFL Draft
WinOne ^ | 4/10/04 | WinOne

The NFL draft is in a couple of weeks and today is a slow news day, so FReepers it's your turn to be the experts. Will the Chargers keep the number one pick? Will they pick Eli Manning? Or is that name "Ryan Leaf" still causing nervous breakdowns in Chargerland? The more patient (obsessed?) FReepers may do a mock draft of the entire first round...

Denver will not draft a running back with their #1 pick.

The New York Giants trade the #4 pick and the #34 pick to Oakland, and with the #2 pick select Robert Gallery of the University of Iowa.

That is a pretty good prognostication but the drafters might not be that smart. I do think the Bears will take a dt or possibly cb with their pick. They improved offensively in free agency and what was a weakness, ol, is now a strength with potentially three or four Pro bowl players on it. Should Columbo return the line should be awesome.

LOL!

So we've got:
Patriots: Gothmog
Packers: Solson
Cowboys: WinOne4TheGipper

Howsa bout we hold the draft next Saturday? Just the first round or the first couple (some teams don't have a first and they'd be left out)?

Sounds good to me, if we get an established list can we make trades?

That is what I thought until I heard the Giants want Eli if they can't reach contract terms with Kerry Collins.

I think the Eagles will make a major trade up to acquire DeAngelo Hall, Dunta Robinson or Chris Gamble (the top 3 CB's in the draft).

They have too many picks (10) with very few roster spots available.

The Patriots have the same problem. They'll be big movers & shakers in the draft also.

I'd be happy to draft for the Saints, but I quit following football when Larry Bird retired. 8^)

I hope they get Mike Williams (USC) and a runningback.

But whoever they get, it's better the Schroeder.....

6. Detroit, Sean Taylor, S, Miami

Doubt it. Reason being is that they just signed Brock Marion out of Miami.

I live in San Diego.
The sports page is so eerily quiet,
I just know SD will pass on the best
quarterback and get a bunch of nothings
in return.
SD is cheap.
Passed on Michael Vick also.
SD wrecked Ryan Leaf.

Let them pass on Eli,
and I am thru with them forever.

Oh, I hope you're right about the Browns. The offensive line needs big-time help.

Not bad, though I have a probalem with a few of your lower picks. I don't think the Cowboys will reach for Chris Perry and I have my doubts that Marcus Tubbs will go that high. However, there's always a few headscratchers on Draft Day as well as a few trades.

If somebody wants to put this together next week, put me down for Houston and/or Denver but I'll be at work in the afternoon so I may just have to post a shopping list and let you take the first available player off it.

The Pack will take Schaub in the 2nd. He won't last until their 3rd rounder...

Have you ever been involved with a Mock Draft before? They drag on forever. We have 8 guys drafting for 4 teams each and we're only a third of the way thru the 2nd round after three days even using proxy picks.

I'm game, but unless youu can guarantee everyone will be online at the same time be prepared to be there for a while. Give me the Panthers if you decide to do this thing.
