According to statistics, your thread will result in the following:

50% of the posts will consist of FReepers berating you for using outlook. 20% of them will insist that Bill Gates worships Satan.

30% of the posts will consists of FReepers who insist you should be using Linux or an alternative OS and Email software.

15% of the posts will have technically viable content, but 10% of that information will result in reformatting your hard drive.

5% of the posts will not have anything to do with the original question, 4% of them will be flame related, and 1% of them will be lame attempts at humor, but at least I've covered that part.

OK, enough of that...

Actually, what I would ask is what other software do you have running? Any security software or other significant software running in the background? I wish I could give you an answer off hand, but that would be my first question. Perhaps you can post more details of the environment you are running. Version of Windows...firewalls...anything. I won't get a chance to see this again for hours so here's to hoping for a solution before I do.

I liked your humor soooo much, I am giving you first crack at a reply. :) Yes, he is running Norton firewall and Norton systems(?). We have disabled the firewall. Still no success. This has happened since he changed ISP servers. Old server no problem...new...has been nothing but problems. And the old worked fine even with the Norton stuff. He has called server tech support, they have been no help. The main problem is the large address list for fans of his band. He sends out a notice by email on the upcoming gigs. Now if I knew how to take that email list from Outlook Express and move it to the server web site and use their address book. Problem solved. That task is beyond my capabilities. I gotta say Freepers are the best.
