America will never seek a permission slip to defend the security of our country!
Good morning!!
Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
Hamas has threatened retaliation for yesterday's killing of its leader, and has, for the first time, directly threatened the United States for terrorist activity.
OPEC is hesitating on production cuts, which is causing world oil prices to ease somewhat.
CBS' 60 Minutes did not reveal the stake that it's parent company had in selling Clarke's new book when it broadcast Clarke's interview Sunday last.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

I would imagine that an awful lot of those unsold books are given (presigned by someone) as presents at these many fundraising events.

Interesting post, nicollo. As I read it, I was reminded of another Simon and Schuster book, that was written about the First Lady, and released earlier this year. (I'm not naming it,
intentionally as to not give the author any further publicity!)
This book and it's author on the talk show circuit, pretended to be something that it was not. I read about 3 chapters, and promptly returned it to my local Barnes and Noble!
Today, we have S & S publishing Clarke's book, released selectively only to the media before the hearing today, and several of the "questioners" on the panel referring to it, although according to what I read on the thread today, it had not been released to the public yet.

three quarters of my stress has been lifted from my shoulders tonite. Major Project has been neatly folded and sent off to another colleage for final review.
There's a possibility we will make a few changes later, but the most difficult part of the project is over.
I'm still at my desk,, but anticipate going for an Adult Beverage soon.

Wolfowitz said in testimony that he had tried to get a copy, but couldn't get one because only select MEDIA people had one until the release date. Someone finally loaned him one but he hadn't had time to read it yet.
I am HIGHLY suspicious of media shenanigans!
To: Miss Marple
Yes, as am I.
For any who are interested, CSPAM 2 is re-airing today's hearing, right now, and Maddie Halfbright is up. I missed parts of it this morn. Maddie just said that it what extremely distressing to her that the new administration didn't pick up their "diplomatic" efforts in Korea and Kosovo!

I was babysitting today, but watched a fair amount of the testimony. I will be ready and armed tomorrow. It was quite interesting to watch what I could today. Senator Kerrey is a loose cannon...goes after everyone. Ou guys were able to answer him...Clintonistas were befuddled.

I will have to count on you for tomorrow. Tomorrow is the first day of
golf season! I cannot cancel now as I've rearranged my entire week, in order to play. But I'm deeply saddened that I might miss the Clarke testimony. I should be able to catch the late afternoon.
BTW, I don't know what has happened to my bulbs! My crocuses bloomed, but the hyacinths, daffodils and jonquils, and tulips, sprouted green between 2 and 4 inches, and promptly stopped growing! All the other daffodils in the neighborhood have been blooming for about a week......:(

I'm in central Texas and some of mine did the same thing. But then, I'm a terrible gardner.

You might have a later blooming variety. I will be on the thread tomorrow. I think Tenet is the first to testify. I will ping you to the best parts!

When I got home from work today, I was thinking to let you know that I may have been premature in my good report about Khalida last night. I didn't get much information today except that she was still at the hospital and the doctor was pretty sure she had brain damage from not having her heart pumping for 3 minutes yesterday. Khalida's husband said she was fighting for her life and was still unconscious as of about 2 o'clock her time.
But not long ago, he wrote to me saying that she was going to be released. Since then she's messaged me twice, either from hom or on the way home. I expect to hear from her soon, but I am just so thankful she's alive.
Thanks, as always, for your prayers.

We are both going to miss tomorrow and I'm ticked off about it but cannot reschedule my friend's plan for the morning.
I'm setting the VCR and will read the live thread when I get home. I don't think tomorrow will be as long a day as I looked at the C-Span schedule and I think only Berger and Tenet are scheduled to speak.

I am so happy they found out what is wrong with Sadie. I know you'll take good care of her.
To: Miss Marple
Well, I thought the commission was supposed to like interview people and read documents and stuff. And who knew, all they had to do was wait for Richard Clarke's book to come out. I am appalled they waved his book around at the hearing today. Talk about a naked agenda.

Maddie just said that it what extremely distressing to her that the new administration didn't pick up their "diplomatic" efforts in Korea and Kosovo! Plus, President Bush had to deal with the plane and China grounding it in April or May of 2001. And the shenanigans that went on in the White House by x42's minions before the handover to President Bush in Jan, 2001. And the media was harping on the election being stolen, and the dems were whining about Bush sinking the economy. And President Bush and his team had to clean up after x42 and his minions with governing this country. It was and is a Herculean task, and he has more than proven himself up to it.
