Note: "ethnic Albanians" = Muslims. Serbian Orthodox = Christian. Too bad Reuters doesn't point that out.
MITROVICA, Serbia and Montenegro (Reuters) - Ethnic Albanians set a Serbian Orthodox church on fire in the flashpoint town of Mitrovica on Thursday, despite NATO troops firing teargas and rubber bullets at the crowd, a Reuters reporter said. French peacekeepers tried to prevent protesters from approaching the church [How, by waving baguettes at them?] in the southern side of the ethnically divided city, but people still managed to break into the building, he said. Gunshots were also heard, but it was not immediately clear where they came from.
Widespread clashes in the U.N.-run province [Thank goodness for the U.N., it's so effective!] on Wednesday killed at least 22 people and injured hundreds, with Serbs and Albanians trading gunfire in Mitrovica. A Serb church was also set on fire in another Kosovo town on Thursday, in Obilic near the provincial capital Pristina. link

Goodness, somebody doesn't like Dennis. Did the NYDaily News report that he had to pay people to see his HBO show? How many years was that on, nine I think?
The libs are really peeved at Dennis especially after he skewered Eric Alterman last night! Ha!

If you can stomach it, watch Kerry when he speaks. The only thing that moves is his mouth. Definitely Botox. Seeped into his brain, too.

Could Al Franken have been John Kerry's secret weapon in the Democratic primaries?
In December, the humorist convened a cadre of New York know-it-alls - including Time managing editor Jim Kelly, Eric Alterman from The Nation, the New Yorker's Hendrik Hertzberg and political historian Arthur Schlesinger Jr. - to meet Kerry at a private gathering at his upper West Side apartment.
"I think the idea was to put John Kerry into the belly of the beast," Kelly tells this Sunday's New York Times Magazine. "It may have been the actual beginning of the new approach he took - 'I'm going to stay in this room and take every question you throw at me.' "
When the candidate and comedian met again seven weeks later, Kerry's nomination was looking secure.
"I told him I'm taking credit for the turnaround," Franken said. "He said, 'I knew you would.' "

They could have sent in Wesley but he's busy with his campaign garage sale.
Potential auction bidders look at Wesley Clark (news - web sites) for President campaign material at the campaign's closed Little Rock, Ark., headquarters Friday, March 12, 2004. Money raised from the sale of office equipment, supplies, and campaign items will help pay down the debt of Clark's six-month campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination. I've been thinking that ticket would be the most fun, surely nauseating but it would take the dem party a decade to recover from that nightmare.

The Press continues to amaze me. How on earth can they let a "man of the people" get away with taking a vacation at one of his five mansions in the U.S. Mansions that he did not even work for but married for? And why is he taking his spring break now? He is a member of the U.S. Senate-he should be working. Their spring break is not now.

Lurch has a horrendous attendance record at "work," that is, the U.S. Senate. Little chance the mainstream media will mention that, either.

Oh right, you get a high geiger count and its garbage, move along people, nothing to see. Get serious. Next they'll blame it on radon. Tomorrow it'll be a leak from a moon rock.
Sounds to me like there's trouble brewing for NYC.

On March 18 the Bush campaign updated their ad to include footage of Kerry saying "I actually did vote for the $87 billion before I voted against it." Kerry had co-sponsored an amendment, which was defeated, to pay for the measure by rolling back some of Bush's tax cuts. The Bush campaign Kerry's words showed him equivocating.
Bush-Cheney '04 Ad "Troops-Fog" Bush: I’m George W. Bush and I approve this message. Announcer: Few votes in Congress are as important as funding our troops at war. Though John Kerry voted in October, 2002 for military action in Iraq , he later voted against funding our soldiers. Senate Clerk: Mr. Kerry: Announcer: No. Announcer: Body armor and higher combat pay for troops? Senate Clerk: Mr. Kerry: Announcer: No. Announcer: Better health care for reservists? Announcer: Mr. Kerry: Announcer: No. Announcer: And what does Kerry say now? Kerry: I actually did vote for the $87 billion before I voted against it. Announcer: Wrong on defense. |

Daisyscarlett you always know most everything about everybody, the story you linked reported:
Among the 60-year-old senator's recreational plans: biking, snowboarding and skiing.
... Last evening I heard somewhere on the news that Kerry was going to undergo surgery for an injury to a shoulder that he aggravated in Iowa. My only thought when I heard it was that he seemed to be fine in those silly football throwing pics and then cynically thought more botox and maybe a tuck or two?
Now this about his active vacation fun and I hadn't heard any more about a shoulder surgery.
What do you know about this? Can't remember which news station it was that reported the surgery. Didn't find any word on Google.

Who ya gonna pick? Rich of course! Aside from being more honest and smarter than Franken he's much better looking.
That was a great find, thanks much for the link. (As Rich finished that piece it must of been like the end of suffering through labor pains or some horrible gastrointestinal episode!)
