I liked the Deryni novels, except for this last one. And all of David Eddings.

David Eddings is a really guilty pleasure. Unfortunately, he writes the same story over and over again. (I mean, he even has the same plot devices! You can map character to character... 'yup, this one's Polgara, and Elana is C'Nedra with an attitude adjustment)
I like Sparhawk a lot though. He's cool. Much cooler than Garion, though "The Belgariad" was better than "The Elenium", in general. I also like "The Redemption of Althalus". But I haven't tried the new one - "Elder Gods", or something like that?
Haven't read any of the Deryni novels.
