Yep. I'm rereading Jules Verne's
Mysterious Island, which is pretty good if a bit overdramatic at times. Typical Verne, I guess.
I also have a book that I just picked up, which is his continuation of the story of Swiss Family Robinson...hmmm...who woulda thought that Jules Verne would write fanfic? I may read that next, if I'm not all Verned out for awhile.

Huh... Mysterious Island wasn't nearly as good as 2000 Leagues Under the Sea.
My favorite Verne is Around the World in 80 Days. Great book! Though Journey to the Center of the Earth is great, too.
Didn't know about the fanfic. But then again, Swiss Family Robinson could be considered fanfic... Robinson Cruseo spawned a subgenre called 'Robinsonades' - something like that - and "Swiss Family Robinson" was just the best of them.

You can never get Verned out!--unless it's the Verne from Ernest Goes to Camp, maybe :) I reread my Vernes every few years. BTW, have you ever seen the movie version of Mysterious Island? I was thinking of that the other day because I'm writing a sf story about giant insects and there's a scene with some giant bees in there that gave me some ideas for that.
