You got rocks growing up out of the ground? Yikes... well... I'm guessing that they aren't running from something scary, and they aren't floating up because of groundwater. Maybe the services of a geologist are in order.

For some reason the idea of an as-yet unrealized volcano keeps running through my head. That would be... bad. :-)

That happens every year up here! Maine is even worse, that's why they call those folks rock farmers! The freezing earth pushes the rocks up to the surface, then they're harvested each spring as you're trying to turn the soil over for planting.
