I think everyone should have a list of their interests tattooed across their forehead. Then you could say, "So you like Monty Python too! No one expects the Spanish Inquisition!"

LOL! I think that's one of the values of fan groups, that it increases your probability of meeting someone with similar interests. Of course if it's a Monty Python fan group it also increases the probability of meeting a Spanish Inquisitor--although no one expects such meetings :)
