Yea I know. That is why I am still in limbo. I am a big ol' titty. I hate pain. Yes, I had the whole childbirth "experience" and I wouldn't trade Jeric for the world BUT I got my tubes tied after ONE child! HA! Fixed that didn't I!?!

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the prayers.
This is just a reminder to me of where my priorities need to always lie....this behavior (which is nothing more than Matthew dealing with excess energy) snuck in under my radar and needs addressing. Really ought to require nothing more than a bit of energy redirection. My dismay was that I didn't notice it.
That said, we're heading for the park.
And I'm looking into soccer!

I hope you don't still write "Pern" fanfic: Anne McCaffrey has demanded that fans do not write fanfic. Um, I think she's taken legal action.
My fandom was "Harry Potter", and our author was flattered by fanfic. But McCaffrey aparently dislikes it...

Well, both Jedis stay in our prayers. All will be well. He's one of the blessed kids with Godly parents who are at least bright enough to catch things like this 2J. When you catch it isn't so much the issue... think how many parents just never notice and do anything!

Yes, I think it's stupid too. There are a few authors who just don't seem fan-friendly, and then others who go out of their way for their fans. Same with tv shows and such...
Used bookstores are your friend... get the books you want cheap, without giving the author money.

Yeah, there's both types of authors. I think authors who aren't fan-friendly are only hurting themselves--fanfic is free advertising.
I like used bookstores :) Just wish there was a good one around here. I miss my Half-Price Books!
Trying to finish up Doomsday Book tonight. I'm far enough that now I finally know how the disease got to the present. . .One thing I'm confused about, though: how come the present doctors are having such a hard time with it, when the cure is known?

I don't think the cure is known... think they have to synthesize it from scratch?

I hope you don't still write "Pern" fanfic: Anne McCaffrey has demanded that fans do not write fanfic. Um, I think she's taken legal action. I don't know if the situation has changed, but ten years ago, she very graciously allowed fanfic under her strict terms. Basically, she was leasing out her universe, but not her characters or storylines. The fanfic writers who were on the up-and-up included Anne's disclaimer, and sent her sample copies. Those who wouldn't obey her sensible and simple rules got their asses sued.
I don't know if she allows fanfic today, but it was nice to write in that universe without looking over your shoulder for a C&D sneaking up on you.

I don't think the cure is known... think they have to synthesize it from scratch? But how'd they inoculate Kivrin, then? That part doesn't make sense to me. Maybe I'm missing something; I guess I'll have to reread the parts where it's discussed.

Hmmm... three-four years ago, I remember hearing vaguely disgruntled noises from Pern fandom, but wasn't paying much attention to other fandoms, so it might not have changed.
Er, on the other hand, I'm in general supportive of fandom and... if you're not trying to make money I think it ought to be ok. That said, there are a lot of fanfic stories that are... well, abominable in many senses.
So you had to invent a whole entire seperate cast, but could use the 'Pern' ideas? Hmm... my 'thing' in fanfic was usually picking a really minor character and retelling something from her POV. To use Pern as an example, you know how "Nerilka's Story" fits in with "Moreta"? That's what I tried to do.
No wonder I always liked Nerilka better than that stupid Moreta!

Huh? Kivrin got innoculated for Black Death and stuff, not the thing they had. That's why she was deathly ill just after her drop - remember? She had the future illness...
