No, I haven't seen Ranma. What's that about?
To: Scott from the Left Coast
That's already on the schedule.Well, I know it's on our schedule. I meant that I thought maybe we could invite Chad! I will also be anxious to see him too. :-)

Um, other than gender comedy? It's a martial arts sort of thing. Big colorful animation. Lighthearted, as far as I know - I've only seen a handful of episodes. Ranma's got the 'changes into a girl' problem. His father has a 'changes into a panda' problem - um, it's almost plausibly explained.
It's just a goofy comedy.

So we've got penguin noses and panda fathers so far--that does sound goofy :)
So you've got two animes left to watch tonight, right?
To: Fedora
Oh, yeah. Just waiting for things to quiet down enough. I think these two are going to be really dark. Darker than the last two, which had fountains of blood and gore - um, well, I'm not watching an anime about feng shui people, you know!
Most of the anime I've really liked has a goofy side. Vision of Escaflowne doesn't. Ok, Vampire Princess Miyu wasn't at all goofy either. But most of the rest. I like the humor.
Orororororo.

Orororororo.Oro! :) Fountains of blood and gore?--hope your Mom doesn't catch you watching that! :) Vampire Princess Miyu sounds interesting--how close are the vampires there to Western vampires? BTW, have you ever seen Ghost in the Shell?--that's another anime I remember seeing about the same time I watched Vampire Hunter D.
Still trying to figure out what to watch tonight. That Giant Gila Monster movie last night was so awful it was funny. Need another giant monster movie. . .
To: Fedora
Not a lot of vampires in Miyu. She's a vampire, but she hunts demons - shinma - that prey on humans. Looks like a little girl but definitely is not. Very dark series. And Miyu's not quite a western vampire, she does drink blood but not all the time and she's more about defeating shinma than anything else.
Um, yeah, Mom wouldn't like this little bit of Kenshin ("But Mom, you're not getting this in context - of course it disturbs you, it's supposed to be disturbing but if you're a Kenshin fan you have to see this"). Which is another good reason to wait until everyone goes to bed.
Have not see Ghost in the Shell. Saw the graphic novel in with the comic books today. It looked like a very Western-influenced manga, or a manga-influenced comic. I shall have to look for it.

Has Uncle Tim already come and gone? How did she enjoy it? She had a blast, as usual. And, equally as usual, she cried when he left...poor kiddo.

Glad you like the new job, that helps life a lot, to have a job you like since you spend more time with it than you do your family it seems sometimes.Ain't that the truth! Also makes the day cruise on by...which is always a good thing!
How are the wedding plans coming along?

Just remembered I have the videos of Horton Hears a Who and Willie Wonka checked out right now--think I'll watch one of those tonight.

Well, the new laptop power adapter arrived. Haven't tried it out yet - still using the one from work since it was a little cold. Looks to be the right one, though the part number is different.
Had an interesting day, I guess. Went over to see my friend Therese - her family is back up here after being in Florida most of the winter. Ended up TOTALLY breaking down when Mom came up in the conversation, which I haven't done in a long while. It was embarrassing...I kept having trouble talking because I'd get almost OK and then just lose it again. *sigh*
Then this evening some siblings and their friends were over for dinner and to watch "Neverending Story", which was even weirder than I remembered it being. Hmm...
They're gone now, and I'm exhausted. Gonna go to bed early, but I also have to get UP early. I hate spring forward!
Feeling kinda bummed...still no change in the scale reading this week, and I've been very good about not eating much and drinking lots. Hard to keep up much hope, when it's been months and months.
On that happy note, good night.

Oh, Rosie... sounds like you've had a hard day too. I am glad you have a new adapter. Come hang out tomorrow and we'll try to cheer you up.
And don't you dare be embarrassed. If you didn't break down now and then there might be something wrong with you, and I'm sure your friend understands that.

Hey, Rosie, I see you checked in just as I was about to ping you--I just stuck in Horton Hears a Who and I was going to tell you it's narrated by Hans Conried so now I can't listen to it without thinking of 5000 Fingers of Dr. T, LOL! Anyway, sounds like you're heading to bed, so I'll talk to you more later--have a good night!
To: JenB
So what comics did you look at today? BTW, I find it kind of funny that you ended up taking your brothers to the bookstore, because when we were talking about where you were going to take them before I was going to suggest that, but I said to myself, "Nah!--they probably wouldn't be interested. . ." :)

It's dead, Jim.

And it's not only merely dead. . .
To: Wneighbor
. . .it's really and sincerely dead! :)
