The Hobbit Hole VII - But not yet weary are our feet...
Posted on 03/15/2004 1:45:41 PM PST by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
But not yet weary are our feet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Looks like boredom may have gotten the best of us. From left to right; Michael "Bull" Small, Aaron "Furious George" Shaner, Steve "Scooby" Agee, Brandon "Boomer" Nell, and John "Junior" Renken. We really need a hobby. Enjoy and try not to laugh at our hair cuts, we did them ourself.

Hi Steve! Ya'll look like a bunch of upstanding guys in need of some cookies and chips to me! Getting you some out tomorrow!
Nice to see such an upstanding group of guys.... even the homemade haircuts! :-)

Thanks for the well wishes re the midpoint review.
It was such a waste of my time. Big-she-chief and The Supervisor spent most of the time arguing about methodology issues- things that had tangential bearing at best on my projects, and nothing I could do anything about anyway. I was watching the clock tick away and wondering when we might get to page 2 of my accomplishments ('cuz I had three frickin' pages to show 'em). Some co-workers did get scolded for various things, but I didn't.
I still hate working for women.

Happy Friday, indeed! And next week is spring break - no students and faculty members around! Gives us a chance to fix things in the labs and rebuild some systems and just work uninterrupted for awhile.

Can we go home now?
To: Overtaxed
If I give you permission, will you give me permission?
I *think* that would make it all OK...
