Brosnan should have been Bond after Roger Moore; in fact the producers had all but hired him. Unfortunately, with the publicity about Brosnan being Bond the "Remington Steele" show started getting better ratings, the network approved one more season, and Brosnan was contractually obligated to play that part instead of becoming Bond. By the time "Remington Steele" was cancelled, Timothy Dalton had been hired as Bond....They should have never cancelled Remington Steele!--that was my favorite show back then :)
