The Hobbit Hole VII - But not yet weary are our feet...
Posted on 03/15/2004 1:45:41 PM PST by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
But not yet weary are our feet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I sure hope they know something by now. Prayers forward.
Sounds like there might not even be enough to go with for an amber alert on this one? Usually they have to have *something* for people to watch out for, like a car make/model/license or a good description.

Don't blame the wrong people here... save the blame for the person that took advantage of the system and stole what was not theirs.Of course, you're talkin' to a mama who had to deal with kidnapping threats against one of her kids for a coupla years. I see things through some different lenses than some folks. Of course, my kids also had to listen to me preach about safety more than most.

Internet went down again at school before I could leave! There's fixes for that. I'm quite proud of my not-yet-patented bulletproof network strategerey...

*grinning* Welcome back!!
I'll have to run in a bit. My ex came over and gave me an earful of mean things and my eyes are still burning from crying like a ninny after he left.
Looking at the monitor isn't helping much.

Sugar, we've got a lady in a high enough position here that won't even allow us to have server level virus protection. As a matter of fact, until last school year, 02-03, we didn't even get virus protection on the classroom computers! She don't make no sense at all...

No worries, sis! I soon realized that I was being a ninny and that every word he said was meant to be hurtful. It was basically the same old -"who would want you anyway. I'm the only hope you have for a normal life"- stupidity he's been telling me for ages.
I'm more upset with myself than anything else for letting it bother me in the first place.

Well, you know everything he said was a lie from the pit of hell! He's about as stupid and jealous as they come. I'm glad you realize that he's just trying to hurt you but I know it doesn't make it hurt any less when it's happening!
You rate too high on too many people's list of friends for us to be able to stand listening to any of that about you. You see what Ramius just said! If we were there - you know you'd have somebody by your side to tell that a$$hole how it really is!!!
Had any *good* phone calls tonight? :-)

Yes, I did. Which is more the reason I feel like such a ninny!!
You know, the things that were said to me tonight were specifically geared to me being a single mom and the whole mess I'm in with the 2 kids and my mom, etc etc...but the truth is, if I am really so worthless and "aging", why on earth would my ex want me to go back with him? Pfffft!
The whole act was just pathetic.

I had a cool thing happen at work today. I got a pat on the back from the associate dean for my work on this video project. She even told me that she realized the dean had assigned me this without the means for me to be able to do what was requested. She sympathized and is working on getting me some more help on it.
Basically, since I pretty much felt like I could lose my job over this, that was a nice thing to hear today! :-)
