The Hobbit Hole VII - But not yet weary are our feet...
Posted on 03/15/2004 1:45:41 PM PST by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
But not yet weary are our feet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Yep, they were beautiful.
And Aunt Cheryl is the kind of movie buff who will fit those little entertaining sequences into any vacation she takes! She's a hugh Stephen King fan, therefore that trip was the highlight of their vacation that year.

Evening g'nad, yup, that'll work, so will a cross-bow and, if the more primitive mood moves you, an atl-atl. Compounds are quite a bit easier to shoot well with than a traditional longbow or recurve bow.
Hey GW1V-good hearin' from ya.
Jenb-glad you liked CO, it's mighty purty country. As far as the profs credentials, doesn't surprise me. Ft. Collins, like most of Colorado has what is known in real estate, as-location, location, location. They would rather be there, than say east coast (ducking) :-)

I took a long nap! - Couldn't tell when I woke up if it was 6:30 am or 6:30 pm! Is it getting dark, or getting light?
~sips coffee~
To: HairOfTheDog
Heh! I had one of those naps after I came back from my all-day bike ride. Had a warm shower to wash off road grime and then an intense nap! Woke up thinking I mighta missed work!

and, if the more primitive mood moves you, an atl-atl.Those look interesting--always wonder how you aim those.

Since I'm on a dialup, your comments are appearing first, then the pictures start to trickle in. At first, I couldn't tell if you were talkin' about ecurbh or Bay. :)Heh.... I am now still talking about Bay when I say "he doesn't seem to be sore at all from today's workout, so my initial determination is that the new saddle fits!" ;~D
To: Wneighbor
Hi! - I just got to the place where I see you went for a ride! Had a nap too? -
Good morning!
To: Lil'freeper
I love the numbered pic! and them garden boxes will work out well!
Have you seen deer around the yard? I think if your dogs are ever out at night and heard barking, they may not come around. Are you gonna fence the yard?

I am having a second morning!
So.... where you been?
To: no one in particular
Boy..... quiet in here this morning....
Funkle me.
To: HairOfTheDog
Here, there..and everywhere. :)
Hopefully, I will be setting up a FreeRepublic Chapter here in Mid-Missouri soon. Sent in the application this past week.
Of course, when that goes through, I will be even busier. LoL

Ah.... we have a chapter here that is organized... I didn't know there is a process involved to become one!
To: Wneighbor
I decided it doesn't matter whether it is day or night, and I am just gonna run with it being morning. Havin' bratwurst on the barbicue for breakfast.
To: HairOfTheDog
Well, I guess you have to go through the process to make it "official" here on FR, to get a webpage on the Net, so forth. :)

Good choice! I had a homemade burger for "breakfast." I'm feeling nicely refreshed after being out in the wind all day and that shower and nap! :-) Nice feeling for a new day. :-)

Kinda hard to describe, sort of like throwing a baseball, instinctive. The atl-atl dart has some flex to it, like an arrow, and the atl-atl also has flex. Sam Cree has one and so does g'nad. The weight of the dart give it tremendous penetration but limited velocity, it is a deadly weapon in skilled hands.

Snow's melted enough here I can start shooting my bow again soon without fear of losing my arrows--looking forward to it :)
