The Hobbit Hole VII - But not yet weary are our feet...
Posted on 03/15/2004 1:45:41 PM PST by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
But not yet weary are our feet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I don't even notice the caffein in soda. I drink a lot of coffee too.... but I am not worried about caffeine... I have higher-tier health sins that I am not stopping at the moment... so low order sins are just not on the radar! ;~D
I do need to get more serious about diet, I guess I wish I could just work hard outside every day and eat what I want.

Good morning! We are getting a lot of spring showers here too! I just wish it would stay a little warmer. 5 degrees warmer at night and the grass would start growing. I am really in a hurry for that. Have seed I want to plant!
To: HairOfTheDog
Oh wow! How cold is it there? It's been in the 70's here daily. I was thinking when I heard the rain against the window at about 3 this morning that your rain musta come to see me. LOL
Radio said it's supposed to get sunny this afternoon though. I have to spend the first part of the afternoon out on the AFB checking up on students getting OTJ for classes out there. It'll be nice walking around outside from building to building in the sunshine!

Its been 65-ish during the day, it is the night-time temps that are still in the forties.... need at least fifty degree night temps for the grass to grow and the seeds to germinate.

There are few sounds more soothing than the sound of rain...so long as you don't have to go out in it.
We had rain yesterday - it melted a LOT of snow. And it's supposed to get up to almost 60 out there today!

Falling on a tin roof
While Im safe there in your arms
So all I ask is for you
To come away with me in the night
Come away with me

Morning everone! Was I the only one that could not get into the site all night?
Feels nice here 60something and a bit drizzly with a nice breeze. I guess spring is in Iowa now.

Good news and nice to hear about Corin's mom! I've been wondering how she's doing.
To: TalonDJ
I couldn't get in under the name last night either... I am still operating under the numeric
http://209.157.64.200 this morning....

I've been having a hard time too. And the mailbox that my yahoo link is in is no longer available. New computer at home doesn't have those links. The only way I was able to get in is to do a search for 'Hobbit Hole ecurbh'. And that one worked.

I put the IP in my host table at home and work...haven't taken 'em out yet, so I'm not sure if mine would work without them. But so long as it's working, I don't care!
Mmm...60's. We're getting close to that...which is nice except that I was thinking of going snowshoeing on a trail in NH this weekend, and I'm not sure the snowcover is gonna last. There are holes here and there all over, and snowshoeing in mud...just doesn't work very well.

Snowshoeing in late March? sheesh.
I guess I was not enough of a hardcore freeper to know the IP and it did not occur to me to look it up via alternate means until this morning... when it is working again with a text URL.

*enters IP in to PDA* hmmmm
